Quicksand could be added to the swamp area west of Stoutford.
Or in deserts combined with an Antlion-like monster that you have to defeat to get out.

in that case, why not add a monster that will attack you, but include a prevolent sign stating, "Warning Death Ahead!"

but make the monster a tank with high block chance... i mean here you are preoccupied with trying to get out of this quicksand and a monster really enjoys attacking you every 2 minutes. :D but grant the player 1000 or so exp. :D this way they can grind there at a cost... (items, gold, a huge increase of Movement AP cost, i guess 13 AP to move. attack cost getting +1AP and Attack Chance lowers by 10) :D name the monster anoyance or something...

but then wherever you are going you get an extraordinary tower shield which grants -10 attack chance, 50 block chance, 5 damage resistance, and +3 AP attack cost.

*nods. this would give tank players a fun and annoying activity for about 20-30 minutes. :3

o also the monster would drop a legendary weapon, like a two handed great sword or something. which would give 3-5 damage, +10 attack chance, -30 block chance, +50HP

Yeah. You could add some pesky giant sandworms.
