Andor’s Trail Project Meeting #9

1. Follow-up from last meeting:

Turned priority document into survey.
Survey: Huge success, excellent responses from a lot of players! We’ll most definitely do something like this again. Will get it posted ASAP.

Review of new maps & section titles, monster placement, their icons & names.
TODO: remove and repopulate the monsters on the new maps. Follow the usual placement pattern of harder monsters on maps further in.
TODO: Change the “green vine” tiles to make the changes in level more apparent.
TODO: Modify maps to fit the description that Ogam (?) gave about where Lodar can be found.

2. Completed since the last meeting:

Testing -
Unarmed slightly overpowered, even more unbalanced with the new skills.
TODO: Change the unarmed combat to being harder without the new skills, but as powerful as weapons with the new skills (modify AP cost).

Worldmap -
TODO: Add names of towns to in-game worldmap.
Script that automatically stitches maps together (thanks to Havard Blok for starting it)

“Toolbox” - Oskar: the animation is so pretty! And just 1 line of code (ish). Can we use that for more places?
[The "Toolbox" is in reference to the expandable icon & menu set built off of the Hero icon (and their shortcuts), could we replace one of the Hero icons with something more fitting, especially if intending to build upon this addition, which seems highly probable for future use?] -SCS
Option: Pause the game when the toolbox is visible
Option: Place the map icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen instead
Option: Keep the hero icon as it is in v0.6.11, but make the lower righthand icon actually be a toolbox, so that the expandable thing is in the lower righthand corner.

Fixed bug where the AP would be reset it you reached 0AP in inventory and returned to combat.

Display magnitude on actor condition icons.
Option: Varying intensity of pulses depending on duration or magnitude
Option: Display magnitude or duration as a floating number briefly when the pulsing animation is being run

3. Things that are being worked on:

Survey is finished, review results.


Matthew: Ideas that have been accepted, rejected or are under consideration.

Changing the next version number to v0.7.0 instead of v0.6.12 (worldmap, totally new skillset, new healing methods?)

TODO: Oskar: check out a possible bug about loading savegames from v0.6.11 (Scott shared a savegame file that crashes).

The Blackberry Playbook issue - We could make the BB version even more “official” if someone wants? Oskar: I’ve gotten several (3) requests from players about bringing back the game to BB Playbook. TODO: Find someone to manage port.

5. What should we have ready for the next meeting?

List of new quests that should be made.

Brainstorm:

Matthew: Regen is super powerful now, kinda makes Corpse Eater seem a lot weaker....
Option: double C. Eater’s effectiveness
Option: lower CE’s prerequisites
Option: regen only ticks every two rounds
Option: regen only ticks outside combat
Option: regen only ticks when you are not adjacent to a monster
Option: place a level prerequisite on the regen skill (lvl20 for 1st, lvl40 for 2nd, etc)

Another Critical Longsword to go with F. Pride!
Another Axe & Hammer, or combine the Skills Proficiencies?

Please feel free to create new items with the AT editor to fill up the new categories - not only highlevel items but also “regular” and lowlevel items.

New Weapons Thread - Forum

Fighting Style & Specialization from a certain NPC?
Pay a trainer a LOT of gold to “train” for these high level skills.
or... i have shared a Document in Drive with you guys...
(another option in ways to deal with our growing skill list)
NPC that gives the first level of proficiency skills, that afterwards allows you to level up those skills that you’ve bought.

Preliminary in the middle of August.
Preliminary 5th Aug. +3 hours from the starting time of these meetings. (same time as last public hangout)
Between 10th and 20th will be a problem for Oskar.
Prepare agenda before the hangout.

What does this mean?

As far as bumping the minor version to 7, I was wondering when that would happen as I thought that it was overdue. Would be nice to see 0.7.0 as opposed to 0.6.12

Members who are active and helpful in the community will get more recognition for all the help and things they do for us and our wonderful community.
