been going for the ElyR, before the update, wyrm trainers dropped regular potions, now they are dropping vials only...

Am I the only one seeing that? doesn't matter much, unless you need the regular potions.

Nothing has changed regarding the ElyR or the wyrm trainers. It's just a question of luck.

OMG. :o The Hunter's Sword... What did you do... ?!
*all below statements refer to the combination with marrow*taint/jewel of fallhaven*

Just before the release, I decided to make my build around the Hunter's Sword and it's ability to replenish 1AP per successfull hit (or rahter dual wielding it to get 2AP per successful hit).
High AC to almost never miss, 1 level in cleave, and I could basically kill anything within one round (even 5 Hirathil swarming me). Since it messes up block with its actor condition, I decided to only get enough BC to get lvl 5 bark skin, and get dmg resistance equipment in case something attacks me and gets the initial blow instead of me, plus a very decent HP buffer. Worked VERY well.
Even for bosses with high AP it was great, as basically you could get out up to 10 hits in one round (if all are hits).
Best defence was this overpowered offense :-D

With the new update, the way the "AP replenishment" of Hunter's Sword worked, has changed.
It now replenishes 1-3 AP per kill per sword instead.
For Bosses, the god-mode is now gone. 4 attacks per round and therefore 2.5x more attacks for the enemy.
Also, swarming gets more problematic.
Before I was able to do infinite attacks, if I kill each monster swarming me with 3 strikes max (-3 for attack, +2 for hit, and then +3 additional for a kill). Works in most cases. If higher HP mobs swarm you, you just needed cleave 2 to get 6 AP for a kill and therefore infitine attacks on any swarm with mobs you kill with less than 6 hits (Not necessary, unless you have low damage, but you could also get cleave 3 for 9AP for the kill :-D).

New way: I have 4 attacks for one monster in the swarm max., then the round ends. If I manage to kill it, I get 5-9 AP, therefore 1-3 additional hits max. Cleave 2 is now needed to (most likely) fully replenish the AP to max AP after a kill (8-12 AP per kill). No infinite attacks on swarms possible anymore, if you're not able to kill each monster of the mob with 3 blows.

I fully support this change. Dual-Weilding Hunter's Sword was too strong if played that way (next-to god mode!). I was about to make a post how overpowered it was.
But now that it has been implemented, it does make me cry a little, since my character was purely built around this mechanism :-D It's still decent, but the giggles when mowing through swarming mobs have been reduced to a smile

Sounds like mission completion then. We make mistakes sometimes when we introduce new weapons and those mistakes need to be rectified.

At level 196, Tulkas will likely remain overpowered for a long time, if not forever. If you want a fresh challenge, you'd be better starting a new character and experiment with different builds, different choices, etc. The current game really only takes you to level 50-60ish in terms of challenging your character.

If you just want to continue collecting L/E items with this character, have you found the Hunter's Sword yet?

Hi bud, I have not found the Hunter's Sword yet, as I just now found the Arulir section after not visiting forever Remgard forever. (As well as putting the game down in between updates).

I am basically going for the unbeatable character here, but mainly built around IF as the basis of all builds. You must get IF as soon as it is available, and keep increasing it to your desired levels.

Of course I looked at my build and see I have THIRTEEN points in Quick Learner ha! This obviously does nothing from a pure build standpoint, but will allow me to gain monumental amount of XP when the time comes, catapulting Tulkas to new heights (and skills.)

13 quick learner? That`s 52 levels put in that skill.
I always wonder whether that`s really a benefit. You might grind xp slower, but yould be 52 lvls lower and still have the same awesome character, and probably spend less time to get there. Or not?
