Wow, this quest is shaping up extremely well. I am impressed with how well it is coming along, nice work everyone.

Suggestion:
demonic Arulir -> Acroamatic Arulir?

I noticed that there has to be some more work on the spritesheed cavewall_4 -the two themes are left needed. Same issue as with the previous - they need to be alligned to the bottom border. Maybe i find some time this week, if someone would like to do that instead - with pleasure. :).

I created a table with updated images to compare the Arulir stats in order to enhance them (make them harder);

OK, I admit I had to look that word up :D
I think it means the teachings that are only given to the inner circle, not the members of the inner circle. They would be disciples, or perhaps adepts. I think I know what you are looking for here, but I can't think of the appropriate word right now.

If you can confirm that what I did with the other one is what you needed, I can do this. It will be much less work the second time.

I think I would increase the DR of the GCA to 10, the AA to 12, and the APL to 14. Other than those very minor tweaks, they look good to me.
Killing the boss enough times to get that sword is not going to be easy :twisted:

I think you underestimate the power of DWing RoLs with 250+ AC against BC <100. That is in the 90% hit range, so 3x 0-6 HP/round - as long as I fought them 1 on 1, they were doable. The one time I got caught by 3, I was a potion popping fiend.

Any monster (as the Arulirs were designed) who uses HP over BC for defense, the RoL (or 2) are very powerful.

I think both your (in green) and rjackson's suggestions (about the DR) are good, it extends the battle, allowing their high crit rates to work. Crit builds must work wonders on these guys as they have almost no BC and are not immune.

Another suggestion, possibly: Is that intended to be lava on arulircave6? If so, you could set up a trap like damage field near the lava (covering demonic arulir spawn) that set ablaze for a constant 2 rounds (-15%acc, -1hp/round), or a new actor condition. I have been exploring AoE fields of that type as a possible nerf to hit and run tactics. It all depends on what level you envision the 'average' player being able to (i) complete the cave once or (ii) farm the boss for the drop ;)

  • I was not sure about the acroamatic too, found it on dict.cc and found it sounds good :P . But well, if the meaning does not fit, what about an "Angry grot" or even an "Angry grot Arulir"
  • The changes you made would be may useful. But for my needs its important to look at the edges, here are the changes i made:

    1. alligned to the bottom right corner
    2. alligned to the bottom left corner
    3. fully alligned to the bottom border, created a shadow transition to make it look more solid (like the other cavewalls have)
    4. alligned to the bottom left and bottom right corner, but i have to split it up into two tiles (alligned at each corner, other side alligned to the usual tile (5)

Aggressive Arulir, or Aggressive Cave Arulir?

Regarding the map tiles, OK, now I better understand what is needed. It's tough to get it right without exact instructions, because I'm not the one putting them in maps. For number 4, you say you split it into two tiles (which makes sense), but I only see one. Could you post the full resolution png showing what you have done. I can't tell from the lower resolution png or a jpeg, and although I'm willing to do this I don't see any point in duplicating work. I am not an artist, so it may be that I can not do any better than what you have already created. If you already have a modified cavewall_4 could you post that too.

I like the new Arulirs and the fact that you tweaked their stats to make them slightly more challenging. Nice work.

    4. update monsterlist to gdrive (more feedback is welcome, link here)
    5. update maps with corrected tilesets (ladder problem) jackson is working on crating tilesets

@ hailstone: Ah I just like these words! :twisted: They can be very useful when creating content for AT!

@Moerit: I see you are really eager creating new content. Maybe we can even release your maps in v072? Would that be a kind of reward for working so hard on the Arulir mountain? ;)
