New Preferences Option!!! =)

i propose that we add an option in Preferences (hit the menu button on your device)

Code: Select all

Confirm  Rest (we have this)

Confirm Attack (we have this)

Confirm Quick Slot Usage (this the new idea)

When you tap a potion or food on your quick slots, you get a pop-up / dialogue box...

[Are you sure you wish to consume this item?]


just like the current confirmation to start a fight, or rest in a bed...

Clicking the chest then a slot is already a two step process, why introduce a third step for confirmation? I never keep the quick slots open so that is why I look at this as a two step process. Do most of you keep it open at all times? If so, then I can see you accidentally clicking a slot so I can see the value in it. But from my point of view, I would never use this setting.

i keep it open, but only in certain instances...

just like i usually just tap all the time,
but in some cases - i use the virtual D-Pad...

just depends on what im trying to do.

maybe the pop up message could also have a consume quantity option?
like when you buy / sell / drop...
(because you would normally tap a few times in succession to heal greater amounts of damage)

just brainstorming here...

You can change the d-pad position in the preferences. Maybe it's possible to make it adjustable size too, I'll look into that.

I keep my quick slots closed until I need them, and I feel like most other people do too. I am not sure even if there was a preference that it would get much use.

Why not just add an option for confirmation, just like the other options in preferences? That way if people want to use it they can, and if not they may disable it. That way it caters to those that keep it open and those that do not. Isn't that what the title of the thread implies? Definitely a great idea.

I think the confirmation preference is a good idea. I know that I have wasted potions by accidently opening the slots with another finger while tapping my way along in the area that is suddenly a potion-use icon. The how many slider might be difficult because of AP-use issues during combats, it seems to me as a non-programer.
