pirate's hidden buried treasure

Lets have an old fashioned X marks the spot hidden pirates treasure chest quest
Just an fun quest nothing to fancy!
You meet an old drunken scalywag peglegged pirate in a tavern who offers to sell you a treasure map for the price of a bottle of rum you listen to his stories of pillageing on the high seas and so on and then he gives you the map to roughly the whereabouts of the hidden chest which is obviously at the other side of the world, if you can find it ,have some gold in there,jewels, potions and perhaps a nice little item for inventory like I said just a fun little quest !

How far is the other side of the world, really? There's no ship or sail at the moment, so I think it should just be a highwayman who tells you that if you spare his life for trying to rob you, like, very early in the game. If you beat him, he starts you on a quest that takes you all the way to Remgard's wilderness to find the treasure. Gives all players knowledge of Remgard, I didn't even know it existed until I saw your posts on the forums.

IMO pirates dont fit in this realm and there are already map with X mark in game...

Anyway +1 I love treasure hunting, how about:
-mercenaries treasure
-map is splitted in then part, one piece for every member of mercenary group
-group has retired and novadays everyone lives different location
-aftef finding one piece you get hint for next one..

Thanks, I go little bit "deeper" then:
-three ways to get piece of map, buy it (high price), do some favor (quest) or take it by force
-some of the members of the mercenary group have already passed away so you need; rob a grave, find perils,
-some of the members of the mercenary group start following you (by secred) and when you have all the pices you got ambushed
-treasure is not gold or jewelry, instead you found weapons, armours, healing and combat potions. Most of the items are rusted and useless but there are still something usefull left.

+ 1 ye like the idea of getting ambushed,a good sized mob to fight all at once, that will be a nice little challange, have a nice little item in there along with the rusted items that you can still equip if you obtain the chest
