Planning a new character up to level 32
Since recently 6.12 came out I'm planning a new character to solve all the quests once more and visit the full map. I'd like planning up to level 32 which means up to 8 skill points. I don't want to do grinning for special items only for acquiring levels. So what skills should I get first, and what weapon/equipment should I look for first? Are there any items which I should plan for when siding in a quest (e.g. Vacor's boots)?

Re: Planning a new character up to level 32
Depends mostly on what kind of build you want to go for but these are some of the skills I'd suggest regardless of builds:
Increased Fortitude (taken at lvl 5)
Regeneration or Corpse Eater or possibly even both
Combat Speed (2) (either taken at 15/30, 16/30, or 24/30)
Pretty much everything else depends on build. For example, Evasion is very, very useful for me but may not be as useful for others. Cleave (and Weapon Accuracy + Hard Hit) can be useful not just because of Cleave itself but because of the extra AC and AD. More Criticals can be very handy for a crit based build while Bark Skin or Dodge can be useful for tank builds. Other people prefer Magic Finder or Quick Learner in order to have a better chance of finding legendary/extraordinary items and quicker leveling respectively. I've also seen people go for Failure Mastery or Treasure Hunter early on but I personally wouldn't recommend either of those.

Re: Planning a new character up to level 32
If you're not planning to go past level 32, my suggestions are:
Increased fortitude (wait til level 5 to use your first skill point)
Regeneration
Corpse eater
Weapon accuracy
Hard hit
Cleave
Combat speed lvl 1
Combat speed lvl 2
If you plan on a critical hit build, and you end up hitting lvl 36, then more criticals is good. For items: polished ring of back stabbing x2, villain's leather armour, troublemaker's gloves, bar brawler's boots, woodcutter's feathered hat (have to side with Remgard to get it).
For a quickstrike or balanced steel sword build: villain's ring x2, Remgard combat vest, enhanced combat helmet, Remgard combat shield, woodcutter's boots
Choose whoever you want between Vacor and Unzel, either way the woodcutters sell better boots. Happy hunting!

That's exactly what I thought of myself, but consider investing earlier in Combat speed. I wonder if there're alternative skill combinations. Is there anybody who prefers Evation instead of Regeneration?Mino wrote: Increased fortitude (wait til level 5 to use your first skill point)

I didn't know that. Are there other items which one gets only when choosing the right side?Mino wrote: woodcutter's feathered hat (have to side with Remgard to get it).

Re: Planning a new character up to level 32
I also like evasion, but when I got the 3 levels of it I have, it was past level 32. If you're going for a build that makes use of evasion then for items I would recommend villains leather armour, cowards boots, and grinding for Valuga's shimmering hat. Those 3 items will lower your move cost to 3 AP (I think you also need the JoF).
The trade-off for getting the feathered hat is you won't get Marrowtaint.

I took evasion as my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th skill points.

Re: Planning a new character up to level 32
I prefer Evasion above Regeneration any time because the health (food) is so easy to replenish, even at low levels.Tutar wrote:That's exactly what I thought of myself, but consider investing earlier in Combat speed. You also asked for alternative skill combinations. The difficult part is, (almost) no one knows exactly what v0.7 is going to bring.
So you should consider only spending the skill points on increased fortitude (1) and combat speed (2) for now, and chosing the other ones later...
Still playing this game at level 5, collected all extraordinaries, now some precious ring would be useful...
