Poll: A Skill Tree with the New Help Section?

Post by nyktos »

this could be an addition to the existing Help Section...

(which is getting updated again in this version, if i can finish it in time)

or we can make it accessible from the Skill Tab in the Character Menu?

This is kind of helpful, but if you are to go this far you might as well go all the way and show all the skill's prerequisites.
Things like needing to be at level 30 to unlock the 2nd level of combat speed, or the you need at least 15% BC to unlock Bark Skin level one.

After writing this I am thinking that maybe its not a good idea to add what I just described as it creates clutter.

exactly, i was thinking of making a link on every tab (in the character menu) to all kinds of detailed information that a new player could thumb through if they were confused about certain aspects of the game.

(similar to my idea with clickable text - a way to direct the player to information)

anyway, yes - this needs some more love...
but i was curious to hear some opinions before dedicating anymore time to it.

i really only did this because i thought it would be cool to see an AT Skill Tree!

:D

we could limit this information to just the Help Section,
so the game screens are reserved for actual game play...

Seeing the tree this way make something stick out to me .. Bark Skin seems lonely, for as central a thing as DR can be to a whole class of builds. Any ideas?

Looks like a good start! A little refinement and it should be there. The only problem I see is the fact that Weapon Accuracy is shown twice. What about listing the skills sideways that way a line could be used instead of a drop down. This would solve having to list weapon accuracy twice.

Code: Select all

Combat Speed
                          > Concussion
Weapon Accuracy
                          > Cleave
Hard Hit

Agreed, I voted yes, love this idea but needs to be done properly. Maybe make certain skills greyscale when you do not meet the requirements. Easy to steal some good concepts from other games, better steal a great concept than think of something less good ourselves :-)

Looks like a helpful visual so I voted "Maybe, if done right". For Weapon Accuracy, you could also just show it once but have an arrow going from each side to Combat Speed and Hard Hit.
