The Prison, from one noob to another, you're welcome :)

For other new players, like myself, please let me reiterate the importance of the prison (found about 4 or 5 blocks south of the first town, and 2 or so blocks west). I went there at level 14 and am now level 20... 2 hours later. What makes this awesome, even more so than the snake cave, is that the monsters drop health potions like candy (I've been using them and I still have 124 -- yeah ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FOUR). Grind here, grind here like there's no tomorrow. It's frickin' awesome.

On that note, where should I go after I get to be too high level for the prison?

168 potions in stock and I use them regularly. This place is awesome!

Where else have you been , and what quests have you completed? At level 20 there's a lot you could go and do, but we need a better idea of what you have already done.

I've done very little questing, mostly grinding. I'm doing those three quests for that town that refuses to trust me. I've also probably missed a lot from the previous towns. I got back the rifts spells pieces, I avenged the guy in the hole outside of the Farfallen(sp?) and I've finished the prison. Mostly though, I've just been expanding my map.

Currently, I'm trying to find this lady's son... who ran off to join the Feyguard, iirc.

Quests are important in AT, both for the storyline and to gain XP. You should try to complete all the quests in Crossglen, Fallhaven, and Vilegard (including the tavern). You could also head north from Crossglen and complete quests at the Crossroads Guardhouse and in Loneford. If you go east from the guardhouse there are more quests to be completed. You can gain a lot of XP by completing the quests (both by killing monsters to do so, and as a reward for completing them), and it's opens up other parts of the game.

Crossroads Guardhouse has a lot of good items if you complete the quests there

If you're looking for a challenge, keep going east past Vilegard almost till the road ends then turn north into the woods. You'll find a cave and at the end of the cave is a couple of rooms with Shadow Gargoyle Trainers and Masters. That's a great place to grind both because of the increased XP over what the prison gives and because you have a chance to pick up the Ring of Lesser Shadow (RoLS). They also drop health potions out the wazoo (I've got about 1500 by now I think). At 20 you may have some difficulty but it's certainly possible.

Try heading west from the prison, as far as you can go, then go north. Bring potions. Lots.
