Back to topic: Swarming Issues

Look at my stats and skills. From about level 70 latest, I never had any trouble again with which ever monster you can think of, swarming or not. In any case, I highly recommend Cleave (at least level 2) against swarming mobs. Btw, this includes the fact that I had no need for potions any more between level 60 to 70. Somewhere there I turned invincible.

On one side, this eliminates the thrill of the game, but leaves you with a demi-god like feeling

I realized that having BC of around 135% and higher in the Lodar's cave is sufficient to deflect most attacks.

With a decent level of CE or ROL and RE or ROLS will remove the need to use a lot of BMP to survive.

With CL of 2 and enough damage you can beat any swarm of hirathils and EV gives you first strike ability.

If you have all of them, you would be in "god mode" for the game's current content.

That's my two cents

You write about the need of using BMP. At level 100?!
I'm currently grinding for level 100 in the hirathil cave and I don't need any potion what so ever, which btw is probably true for the last 15 levels or more.
I think the secret of my build is its balance: great HP value, regeneration abilities from CE and equipment, and last but not least swiftness. Concerning the last point, I'm currently thinking about aiming for cleave 3, because at the moment I only manage 3 and a half hirathil in a single round while being swarmed. Cleave 3 should push this number to infinity, as it would grant me another two hits per kill, which is exactly what I need to kill a hirathil while wielding a RoL (4AP with JoF or MT).

Bottom line for the hirathil cave: Cleave is the way to go - the added increase of power and accuracy certainly doesn't hurt.

I don't use BMP anymore but for people that enter the caves for the 1st time would.

I have 2 ROLS and a ROL that recover any lost HP.

Cleave of 2 is required if anyone wants their life to be easy with the hirathils. If people want an easier time, Evasion is a must because of its first strike ability.
