I hadn't thought about it with bwm gear, however:

bwm cap + bwm leather + gloves of the guardian + enhanced combat boots = 21% + 25% + 14% + 11% = 71%. Rings and swords are not armor, and do not get a boost from armor proficiency. So, applying the correct sequence of multiply, round down , add, the boost would be 61%.

That's still a lot more than three levels of Dodge, but it is only possible by selecting gear based only on BC, and ignoring all other stats.

My point exactly.
Why the focus on blocking?
Just kill it.
Then there is nothing to block.

Lol,
my char was not always lvl 119. And I play this Char since IF was indroduced for the first time and the strongest enemies then were the iquans. There was no need to increase AD, but it made sense to invest in BC (what else to do with lvl points?)

Why do I experience gear with a lvl 120 Char? Because this Char has gathered ALL gear aviable so far. So it makes perfect sense to test the possible combinations with this Char. Atm I play 4 different Chars: two on lvl 40 (one is the clone on the other, they differ atm only in light and heavy armor use), one on lvl 56 and this one.

And btw I like high defence chars. Ah, the greatness of diversity. ;)

I don't see the big benefit of Fear, it lowers their BC by 10 and their DR by 1...well, if you chose Lightweight Chainmail instead of shadowstalker, you'd gain 16 AC and lose one dmg. That dmg can easily be made up by the fact that the Ltwt Chainmail is the equivalent of two level ups higher than Shadowstalker. Plus to get the full benefit of shadowstalker, one needs to invest 3 three skill points into the armor pro, whereas light armor only needs an add'l investment of 2 skill points, so the third could be invested into: WA, dodge, Hard Hit, anything.

Sure, there are lots of ways to go, but I don't see that this is better than light armor.

You're right. I meant the combination of all factors influencing BC with armor+Armor Proficiency adding the biggest value to this number.
And the gear I described increases - when having max skill of dual wield and one-handed sword (including specialization) - my AC from 210% base value to a number around 450%. With 2 RoL I am "only" around 300% AC.
So the gear boosts both AC and BC.

You have a lvl 78 char, so I think you don't have to fear any enemies any more. For me that's the point where personal preferences directs future char development.
I do agree with you that light armor atm is the best choice. Going at least one time for a heavy armor tank has something.

Do you go the same development way for all your Chars? Or do you differ in some way?

I've a few different characters. First was all out Crits then I tried a couple that were more Balanced and most recent was a BC oriented char with hvy armor and went for taunt skill combined with great axe of shattered hope.

please try a character with heavy armor as the skill from the certain area when you get access to such things. and daggers for the other. and dual wielding for the regular skill. thats all i ask. that combo.

dont say you know b/c you played some "role" where your character made sense to some archetype.
play this game.

dual wielding BotD and barbed dagger wearing shadowstalker and 2x ROL makes you the most powerful toon ingame. crit toons are higher damage, GL at maze end.....

some of you may not have even fathomed a game level where status effects stacked would ever come into play.
i can tell.
its time you explored out of your little boxes lol.

one last point.
this is a beta. admitting you have preferences to an older version of this game is a no no. it would get you kicked out of a focus group if this were a larger corporation.
the focus on game DEVELOPMENT is the future.
i WAS in love with the game, but it's long term "incomplete" status has worn thin. unfortunately it will continue to be a long process as long as people forget what the focus is.

we all keep calling it a game.

its not.

not yet.

i hope so soon though.

thanks for all the fish.
