What I meant was that if you take away most of the BC penalty of the QSD then it would be possible to dual wield them, with devastating effect. So devastating in fact that there wouldn't be any other weapon worth playing with. That could be fixed by, for example, moving 15% of the existing 20% BC penalty to a new (stackable) actor condition. Then it would be no worse than it is now. In fact slightly better.
That is a pretty clever fix actually, i like this idea!
The QSD has always been a staple in my attack set ups for early on in game.... I do agree that we need to make sure that it is not OP if players are allowed to duel wield 2 at the same time.
i love this idea, making the QSD seem more like a magical item...
very cool, little stuff like this gives the game more color & makes it feel "deeper".

This point leads me back to an old old discussion/argument on the board - why are so many of the best items simply available to buy, instead of rewards for killing nasty bosses and/or fulfilling quests?
Like, make the QSD carried by Rogorn or the bridge troll., or Buceth. I'm sure we can all name other examples..BSS is purchasable, but at least you have to fulfill a wrist from Minarra to be allowed to buy it.

i agree wholeheartedly on this one... Pretty much every weapon in the game that is worth using is available for purchase from stores.
Why not make the items dropped by NPCs at the ends of caves better? (Like Maelveon at the Gargoyle cave, the "boss" at the end of the wolf cave, or the "boss" at the end of the snake cave)
I feel like it would improve gameplay if items like the QSD were earned thru quests than just thru grinding out a boatlaod of cash.

What if we gave the JOF to the NPC at the end of the Catacombs in Fallhaven? That way players will find it but it's not too easy to get right off the bat.
To unlock the catacombs you have to complete a few quests first which will prevent knuckleheads like Nyktos and myself from getting a JOF while still at level 1.
