Speaking of IF, lots of people said that you should get it when available, and that makes ALL builds, yes, I mean ALL builds, using the IF@Lv5 strategy. It is, of course, your choice, everyone plays their own game, my previous build is also played in this way

But one day, someone said Increased Fortitude is overrated, which is disagreed by lots of people (Thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6341), that got me thinking: how much health do we really need?

Consider these conditions:
1. You do not need health when you can just one-shot everyone in a single round, for example, with 400 AD and Cleave 4, even you are surrounded by 8 mobs, you can still kill them easily without getting hit, if you fight them before they fight you

2. You do not need health when you can block everything, well, I never played defensive builds before, I don't know what is the maximum damage resistance one can get

If you think the above two are total nonsense, then how about this:

3. There is not much difference between 2k health and 20k health, you just won't die, probably
Well then, shall we say, we do not need that many levels of IF right? Since if 1/4 of your skill points are spent on IF, well, that's too much for that I guess

So how many levels of IF do we actually need? I do not really know, I think 5 would be it.

And somehow I came up with an idea: how about not getting any IF levels? That would be very challenging for sure!

So here comes my no-IF build
Image
No, I am not even using +5HP as level up
Image
Feline gloves and shoes are pretty nice by the way
Remgard area is tough, sometimes I just got one-shoted by these trolls
Image
I also managed to kill Thukuzun, well, yeah, it is VERY, VERY difficult to get to there.... gonna save every time I kill a mob or two.
Image
Oh well my health is already low, and there comes the rotworm, but not yet!
Image
And there we goes ladies and gentlemen! Definitely not clickbait! The legend of the 1HP kid is right here!

Damn that's so hilarious isn't it?

Wait what? You wonder what would happen if you have negative maximum health? Well I wonder that too, but too bad I don't have a ShadowFang or any other items that gives you negative maximum health, maybe you just die every 6 seconds or every round?

Okay then, what about skill points? Well, I sure have 4 skill points left now that I don't spend them on IF and cannot spend them on Corpse Eater or Regen, and I am bare-handed, which means I don't need these fighting style or specialisation

And that's it ladies and gentlemen! That is my no-IF, low-life, bare-handed, no armour, I am running out of words, build!

If you want to try the No-Increased-Fortitude Challenge.... well good luck with that

It's already been done, but in a different form, (not by me, I'm still mostly sane!) ;)

The level-one challenge ends at Iqhan cave, I doubt it can be done in v0.7.5, as there are Lodar and the Graveyard King quests

Maybe I can also formalise the no-IF challenge, anyone interested?

My main build predates the skill system. He was level 40 when the skills were introduced, so I didn't take IF. I feel a little weak with 75HP at level 78 though...

But then, at level 40, you would have had a lot of skill points to spend. Put two in IF, then by level 78 you would have an additional 76HP ;)

I feel like Evasion is the way to go.

We have 20% chance of failing flee attempts and 15% chance that adjacency mobs would attack us right? Both are reduced by 5% of each Evasion skill level. Using hit-and-run strats, 46 Health is quite enough I guess?

Or maybe just take Evasion 4 and Cleave 4 with very high AD, then it goes back to the condition 1 as above

Now that's.... maybe I don't even need to take IF anymore?

My main build has 3 levels of Evasion, and it's very effective. It means I can slide through mobs with much less chance of being attacked, and since I use low attack cost weapons I can get in 3 hits and then flee. I may take the fourth level as my next skill.

I also have IF 4 though, and Re 2, and a RoLS, so I have more HP than I can use :D
Edit: get high sustenance foods too: cooked perch from Charwood and smoked sausage from Stoutford.

Yeah sometimes I walk next to a mob and then just instant die, I might consider taking Evasion 4
