The "Dagger of Shadow priests" is missing from my invent...
Is this normal...? Im damn sure I wouldn't make the mistake of losing it since its the best in-game weapon in terms of Crit...
Is this quest related...?

There is one character that takes some random items from you, but gives them back occasionally. So just perhaps you really did not accidently drop/sell the dagger.

If my suggestion is correct it is quest related and you should proceed the merchant quest.
