Shield and armor proficiency

Post by Soullessktty »

All the shields have caterory like armor, light and heavy. However, it does not seem to make any difference. Plus shield proficiency does nothing except adding resistance +1/lvl. So, I am curious, if shields have category being light or heavy, why light/heavy armor does not affect BC from shields? After all, if I am proficient in heavy armor, wouldn't
it be making more sense to include how to utilize heavy shields as well?

Well,
since the game is in development, I do expect that there will come some powerfull items for shields, heavy armor and heavy weapons in the (near or far} future. I see them all as underpowered compared to light armor and swords.
Example: The proficiencys "light armor" and dual wielding are both the most powerfull proficiency - one of my Chars reads AC/Damage/BC without items 150/50/24, with BWM items 328/74-90/213 at lvl 74. (Crit it -44 and he lost 1 AP on attack) - no chance to get so strong with heavy axe and heavy armor, not the slightest (heavy axe and heavy armor is a wonderful combo imho).
I hope that heavy armory maybe gains some effects boni as well shields get a power boost.
I have tried a lot of skill combos over a dozent chars (in the end range of lvl 70 to 200), but never get warm with shield skills. Never.
Since I don't get well with hit & run tactics I didn't play no armor, but the low move AP is an option worth testing.
But shields? Only for low level game play, until the better equipment gets offered and the money to bux them is there.
That's my point of view.
