Religions themselves aren't bad, pretty much all of them teach compassion, kindness, respect towards others, etc. The problem is that some use religion as an excuse for horrible acts that they likely would have done anyway. This is true of actual religions and probably also the fictitious ones in this game.

And by the way, religious intolerance is bad too.
