Isn't this your first character build, not a subsequent build?

Technically, no. I may not have a lvl 100 main char but this is my second char

Your opinion is always welcome here, weither your first build was to 100 or even 1,000,000,000,000 a second try always gives the player a chance to fix the little mistakes he/she made along the way, or even take advantage of new abilities (skills) that have become available.

I can't wait to hear what everyone is doing differently on their second (3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, ect) time around

i've started a new build to test the new critical skills...
(and the upcoming defensive skills)

so far... Lv. 32

2 Inc. Fort.
2 Com. Spd.
2 M. Criticals
2 B. Criticals

after equipment...

HP~65
AP~3/12

AC~220%
AD~23-24
BC~35%
CHS~57 (critical hit skill)
CM~4.5 (critical multiplier)
ECC~28% (effective critical chance)

(yes, first looks at the new critical system & skills!)

i'm going for the first critical effect skill, which hampers the enemies attacks
the second critical effect skill hampers the enemies defenses

[the prerequisites are multiple ranks in More & Better Criticals]

when you have both skills, one critical hit could induce both conditions! - if you're lucky!
when you land a critical hit - the skill has a 50% chance to take affect on the enemy

After taking a pretty long break - a few weeks is a lifetime to an ATA member; I got back and grinded my way to level 32 on my new game so I could get Combat Speed level 2. My next level ups will go to Evasion but I'll wait for the update for that, since I don't want to level up this one too much. So here's what I have so far.

Level 32
Base stats:Max HP: 62, Max AP: 10, Attack cost: 3, AC: 105%, AD 21
Equipped/skilled: Max AP: 12, HP: 76, Attack cost: 3, AC: 202%, AD: 31-41, BC: 45%

Equipment:
Leather cap (BC: 6%)
Champion's chain mail (AC: -9%, BC: 24%, +2 to max HP)
Jewel of Fallhaven (Attack cost -1)
Balanced steel sword (AP cost: 4, AC: 32%, AD: 3-7)
Superior wooden shield (AC: -4%, BC: 9%)
Villain's ring x2 (AC: 25%, AD 3-6, +4 to max HP)
Leather gloves of attack (AC: 13%, BC: -2%, +3 to max HP)
Woodcutter's boots (AC: 3%, BC: 8%, +1 to max HP)

Skills: Increased Fortitude (1), Regeneration (1), Corpse Eater (1) Weapon Accuracy (1), Hard Hit (1), Cleave (1), Combat Speed (2)
(listed in order they were picked, from what I can remember)

*sigh*

I must not be a member of the ATA group yet because in comparison to you I level up like a snail. I do finally have combat speed 2 however. Next up will be corpse eater 2 and then evasion is on the list somewhere too. Took a break from grinding for the RoLs to go finish the Prim/BW area quests (helps that I get better XP there too). I even took a go at the Iquan caves and after 1 full clear I got bored and went back to BW mountain :P

Strong Build! I see you decided to go for learning Cleave, I choose against it on my new build.

So i gotta ask everyone here:

Cleave: Useful or too many SPs down the drain to be useful?

I think i could get more use out of using 3 SPs in another Skill(s) than have to get the Weapon Accuracy, Hard Hit, and then get cleave. I could get a better build out of using those skills on others like Regeneration, Bark Skin, Corpse Eater, Increased Fortitude, or Combat Speed.

I would take:
Regeneration, Bark Skin, and Corspe Eater (or any combination of most of the other skills)
over
Weapon Accuracy, Hard Hit, and Cleave

ANY DAY, ALL DAY, EVERY DAY. Opinions? (old players?)

It amazes me how some of you people have finally come around to my way of thinking.

I have always thought this, i just hadn't voiced an opinion until now.

I turned the last comment into a poll here:

If I started again this is the path I would choose:

Increased Fortitude at lvl 5, Regeneration at 8, Bark Skin at 12, Corpse Eater at 16, Evasion at 20, Combat Speed at 24, Combat Speed 2 at 30.

I would also like to get Evasion up to 4 fairly quickly after that but not certain about the order I'd do it in.
