You could classify the hero's status as:
"'Tis but a scratch"
"I've had worse"
"I'll bite your leg off"

Since we already had an Army of Darkness reference in the dialogue for one of the new quests, why not a Monty Python one too?

Not sure about that, but maybe the next update should include a killer bunny as a monster, if its not some kind of copyright infringement

Interesting, I also thought about simulating the effects of being hurt or weak. But this is incredibly hard to balance. One strong hit and the fate of the receiving fighter is sealed.

Well no, because you have food/potions during the fight plus any regen, and we would have skills too to counteract the effect
