Just restarted (again) and have chosen to focus on HP early on. Corpse Eater is very useful early on when you're quickly doing the early tasks and early fights.

IMO regeneration is usefull for lowlevel builds and corpse eater is nice when you have some more levels ;) Bouth are nice to have before level 30, you save a lot of money. When in high levels (30+) they were useless, because money is not a problem anymore.

Really, I use both. but that is why i am practically untouchable.

You can see by my sig that I chose CE this time around. First few chars I played had regen but I soon discovered (like several others have already mentioned here) that the slash and go system works best for speed. If I need some more health I just head back to the main map and whack around some low lvl critters for a bit. I gain HP, gold, and XP that way instead of sitting in a corner somewhere waiting for regen to top me off slowly.
nyktos wrote:keep in mind, Regeneration will take effect every round in battle in v0.6.12...
making it far superior to Corpse Eater (hence my suggestion in the last meeting to boost CE by the update)
Of course, as Nyktos said, an upgrade like the one mentioned above would render regen FAR superior but fortunately, I was already planning to get it at some point too. It wasn't quite as high on my priority list but for future chars it definitely would be. I don't see a big need to upgrade CE even if regen gets that boost. Yes, it will make regen better but so what? I'd still grab CE... it would just become the lower priority of the two instead of the higher priority. It's still useful.

With status effectss for every turn, regenration would probably be some kind of damage resistance... so would Shadow regeneration, for that matter. Which makes the ROLS even better than the ROL, then.
