I leveled up 3 times and saved over 30 potions (which are REALLY hard to come by). After attempting to get down the mountain, I was killed by the second to last monster (Very Easy - critical hit of 24 put me out).
In a fit of frustration, I deleted the character and have started over. Which is frustrating, but at the same time, now that I know what is out there, I can craft one more around what I'd like to build without the random level up and skill wastes that come with uncertainty.
Even will all my frustrations, I still can't get enough of this game!! I love it!
Yes, this cabin in middle of nowhere can be a lethal trap ...
I feel sorry for you, but I like your attitude.. Please let me know if you want some tips or need some advises.
Happy hunting
There are some tips that will make your new builds life a bit easier:
-sell ewery starting item excepth Michaels rig and buy +1AD ring
-fight barehanded untill you find some really intresting weapon
-buy asap the Jewell of Fallhaven
-go to crosroads and Loneford asap, there are lots of reallygood items..
-about skills, fortitude first then thing what you really want
-and keep building youf AC... 200% is just a good start
I did the save hit and run tactic that Wyrmspawn suggested. I did this yesterday night and I got free from that hell hole within an hour. I had been trying to collect the potions over several months and came to 38 potions. But with the hit and run tactic I did not use a single one. Although it seems cowardly it beats collecting at least 40 potions which you will need if you don't do hit and run. I did start to use the potions when I came to the wolves and dog beasts because I was getting closer and I wasn't bothered to save anymore. Now I can get back to the game. I wanted to give this 'Wisdom' to other but I see that Wyrmspawn has beaten me.
Anyway just so everyone knows the save hit and run tactic has a 100% success rate.

Welcom to the forums Spinky, it is nice to have new players here.
lol...well yeah I collected 38 potions of which I collected 34 potions on the same day that I escaped and I gave a sort of minimum number potions needed to escape. Oh and the several months most of which I did not play because I did not want to collect so many potions because I t was going to take so long.

I did the same thing when hunting for my first ROLS, the amount of time i played dropped off after a while.
Glad to hear you made it back down safe and sound. Happy hunting!
Yeh. Now that I am back down I have to deal with more monster so I need to bulk up and get stronger. Those ithzeil and poisonous frogs and lethal. Those blood disorders and poison took over 40 from my health last time. Can sneak in there any time soon.
2 things that I think should be added to improve the game (may have already been added)
Farming ability so you can gather herbs to make antidotes for illnesses.
At the start the father should give you a map that is gradually revealed during your adventure.
