So far, I haven't needed BC. I may clear the Gargoyle caves 2 or 3 times before I get hit once and that usually only when the monster moves onto the square I'm occupying because I ran right by it (silly fat fingers). With Evasion 3 I pretty much ensure I get first hit and with high enough AC and AD I pretty much ensure I kill whatever I attack within the first round. Corpse Eater is for those rare times I do get hit so I can build my HP up by killing beetles or snakes or some other low end creature although once Regen is changed I'll probably get that as well.
