There is a computational level cap... But at this point, sarumar is approximately 20% of the way to maximum calculable exp. Oskar is aware of this cap, but not terribly worried about it. It's not a difficult fix, and no one is really actually close to breaking the barrier.
Btw, in case you wanted to know, you run out of exp storage about 1/3 of the way through between lvl 400 & 401
in other words, at 2,147,483,647 total exp

I just change my mind. I am now officially fan of current level cap. If there are any one ( besides me ) enough cracy to grind over two billion exp (what is more than hundred times needed exp to complete AT 1.0 version). We should make some cap before psychotropic drugs run out...
well I actually love the idea but can also see that might be just a little to much restraint.
Perhaps there is another way to achieve this main idea of restrictions but also reward for doing it the right way.
