I think the tough cave snake was framed
At least in my caves, this snake gives only 30 xp not 79
Great work, Necrite!
Now if only you could find a neat way to make the negative actor conditions count a bit more (cursed spiders!), your list would be even more valuable.
Definately something for the wiki

if we made the venom more lethal, the extra XP gained would be justified...
i'm pretty sure the high reward was "supposed" to balance with the risk of being poisoned.
but, to me... when i first started playing - i looked at it like an easter egg.
[a bonus for me noticing the big jump in the rewarded XP]
so i avoided the tough snakes, whilst clearing out the venomous ones...
an excellent way to farm / grind for XP & meat.
clear screen 2 of venomous snakes & clear screen 1 in hopes of meat dropping.
[rinse & repeat]
yeah, got off on a tangent there...
*mumbling*

Everything in the Snake Cave came from Pyrizzle's beastiary thread. I didn't check any numbers as I entered against the game, and I know I made a couple transcription errors that I've been correcting as I find them, so this could be one of those.
The big issue with rating enemy skills is that I'm still early in the game, so I don't know how potent some are compared to others, and I want to be careful about arbitrarily assigning values.

It doesn't matter how potent the venom is, if the player can walk in and slaughter a dozen snakes without any of them ever msking an attack roll.
it isn't hard to get to the point where you can reliably do 8 points of damage per attack, or 5 per attack with a three attack per round weapon.
