Well with shield Prof. You gain Dr with every sp put into the skill so in theory you can get up yo 10 Dr but ill double check that.

You can have DR 17...

I beleive that is correct Sarumar, iirc the max before 0.7.0 was 13DR.

Hmm, thanks all. I'm not as worried about DR as I am about speed but if I understand things correctly, with 2 points in FSDW and 2 QSDs equipped I'll still have an attack cost of 2AP, right? If that's true then whether I choose FSDW or FSWS doesn't have any impact on potential speed of attacks, just AC, AD, BC, and DR. My goal is to hit first and kill my opponent in one turn. To that end, I've taken Evasion 3 so far and could go for Evasion 4 if that will help (it didn't back in 0.6.x). I also have Cleave 1 and plan to go all the way to Cleave 4 at some point. Every so often, I get attacked (usually because my fat fingers made me run around the monster instead of charging into it and starting combat) or I don't manage to kill a monster in the first round (sometimes due to misses). Those are the times when having a bit of BC is handy so I don't want to avoid BC altogether but I definitely don't need to make it a priority. DR is basically worthless to me due to the number of times I get hit. AC and AD, on the other hand, are both crucial, especially AD.

So, assuming I can eventually get to the point where dual wielding 2 QSDs only costs 2AP then I'll probably go that route. Here's an interesting question though: With a base BC of -20, what would putting points into Dual Wield Specialization do? Would I suddenly have -30BC on each or would they each go to -10BC?
