It could be a map-changing quest to reactivate an old road-connection.

@Mayweed: I should have expected that. ;)

But you're right guys. I will definitely create a quest for that.
My idea I have in mind: You have first to ask the village elder (Thoronir) for a permission. So we need a woodcutter to clear away some trees. I could use the woodcutter of Fallhaven: Jakrar. You have to pay him ~300 gold for his work.

-And he will only help you if you have retrieved a precious item for him from a high level location (BWM/Charwood/waterway)
-Or: He will only help you if you reached Lvl 25
-Or: do same task for Thoronir instead.

What are your thoughts? (Finally a quest where you forum members can share your ideas) ;)

At first the road was willingly closed to isolate from some influence from the outside. But now it turns out that the isolation didn't work. And every days life would be easier if the road would re-open, but the forest grew it tight in the meanwhile . ..

Maybe the woodcutter expects that someone brings some good food every day.

Or Andors brother must help (don't know how difficult it would be to "attack" some trees which do not strike back.) But it would be some nice low-level-quest, an axe could be the reward or part of it.

Thoronir was expecting a delegation from Nor City, but they have not arrived. He is worried that agents of Feygard have intercepted them, as they control the routes into Fallhaven.

A better place for the path might be to continue the path straight past the tailors.

My quest suggestion:
You could put the path in, with some dangerous looking dead trees next to it (actually, there's one suitable one there already!). Put a couple of guards there that don't let you use the path. They tell you it's closed until further notice, because someone was badly hurt by a falling tree. They are waiting for a woodcutter to come and clear the dangerous trees, but he has not arrived. They tell you the warden might know when it will be open again. If you go to the warden he tells you the woodcutter refuses to start work until he has been paid 300gp, but Feygard policy means the warden can only pay once the work has been done. The path will not be cleared until the dispute is somehow resolved. When you get to the woodcutters you ask about this dispute, and they confirm it. You have the choice of paying the 300gp, in which case the path will be cleared (the dangerous looking trees and the guards disappear). When you return to the warden he reimburses you for the 300gp, and gives you an additional 100gp for you help in solving the problem.

Ooh, Feygard is getting their claws into everything. I can't wait until Nor City is open.

Trouble is, the Nors are too laid back to halt Geomyrs subjegation of the continent, so who is going to lead the fight back for the rights of the individual?

We need a hero, dammit.

Guys, thanks for sharing your bright ideas and opinions! :D

Now I've started working on the quest and I primarily used rijacksons idea with the addition of a side quest in which you have to find Jakrar's favorite woodcutting axe.

I basically wanted to it easy for me (this is the first quest I create.) I'd really like to use all your ideas but I can't merge them altogether of course.

So where is this axe located? I can't find any spots to the north that have it... ☹️

Go east from the Crossroad Guardhouse on the Dulein Road. It is between that guardhouse and the Jelly/Slime Cave or the entrance to the green maze. Look for a wolfpack.
