I have one of those too however, the game takes up the entire screen when it is running and therefore hides my main menu bar. For me to look at anything that doesn't override the game and pop up, I have to exit the game.

There is an option for fullscreen.

Indeed check your preferences and make sure that fullscreen is unchecked, that should allow you to see the top menu bar.

Thanks for the tip! I switched off from full screen too so I can keep an eye on battery level (and the time). Not sure if this will happen to everyone, but if you experience FC when you get a call, the same thing may happen if you use the pull down menu when there's a text or e-mail notification and use it to read said text or e-mail (I used it to check an e-mail and the game force closed).

Probably dependant on which phone you're using. I've answered calls, gone to home screen, even openned other aps and had no problem going directly back into AT without a FC.

Same here. I use HTC Hero v2.2 and it's been great. About 50% of the time, it doesn't even do the "soft save". I can click back to it and it'll start back right where I left off.

My problem was my Hero was dying faster and faster. I have since remedied the problem by getting a new phone. Hello EVO 3D.
