Ian and I are both working on areas there .. Mt Galmore (large wilderness area) and Stoutford (medium sized town). Also, Meirerion is working on back story for Sullengard, somewhat to the east. Let me know if you want to put any NPCs from your quest in Stoutford .. I'm looking for more quest ideas for the town as it is.

Hmm, normally dialogue boxes only contain speech direct at or from NPCs, how do you plan to make it clear that this isn't directed at the old man?

We haven't covered Diary updates yet, each stage of conversation should have it's own diary comment:


I met an old man from the village of Ash, he told me that it was betrayed by Feyguard soldiers.
He may have more to tell me.

I met an old man from the village of Ash, he told me that it was betrayed by Feyguard soldiers.
Monsters have overrun the villagers, burning everything in their path.
The Old man may have more to tell me.

I should go to Fallhaven and seek the mapmaker.

Ya something like that and we kinda do have a diary just look at your quest list it reads like one. More editing needs to be done on this quest tho.

As a side note I'm also thinking about putting in a monster quest along with scream pain & fire and the map maker quest. All 3 tie in together but the monsteGr quest is an on going quest.

We were talking about a monster guide in I think it was the map forum I think. Somehow we got on a monster info thingy. So I thought (just now) why not make a quest out of it were you meet someone who wants to know about all the creatures that inhabits the land. You would receive the monster guide and after you complete the guide u get something.

Hows that sound?

I'd suggest that a monster guide style quest should probably be seperate from this one, it should probably be available immediately for new, low level players.

Ok in that case you would find him in the tavern when you first start?

The path south of Flagstone goes to Mt Galmore, which has some area already mapped (probably not to appear in 0.7.0 yet, though - same for Stoutford), vignette could be room for another village...

Fallhaven is pretty full. I could put the map maker in Stoutford....it will be a fair sized town, close to the size of Remgard, (but not as large as , and closer to where you want to put Ash.

I'm about to write the dialog for the map maker quest but I need ideas for the items for that quest. Any suggestions?

Okay, I'll do that. I have a place in mind for him...

For his items, you already mentioned Arulir skins (to make the parchment?) and dead spiders (to grind up in the ink?). Something to make a pen, perhaps - a feather from a griffin to use as a quill pen. We could put griffins somewhere .. mountains, as a place for an aerie ...

An oak gall to put in the ink also, perhaps - I have an idea about living tree monsters (and a place for a forest of them), which could drop a gall when killed...

Ok that sounds like a plan. I'll write the dialog can you come up with placement and stats for the new monsters?
