The GoW is like a Ruby or any of the other gems. They do nothing as of yet

This is not true. The ruby has a very important use in version 0.7.0
The use for a GoW is very interesting in that Oskar has stated on many occasions that legendary and extraordinary items are not needed in order to finish the game. So with that said, I would be shocked beyond belief if the GoW will be tied to something like being needed in order to complete a quest.

It could be useful if were made to work as a substitute for the Olgyleth crystals. It wouldn't be necessary for anything quest-wise, but could be used to gain extra specializations once you run out of the crystals, so it would be worth while if you have the time and want more than what the 8 crystals can get you.

Rather than using the GoW merely as an alternative Oegyth crystal, if it is going to have a use at all, I'd rather it be a unique one. Keeping you alive in a frozen area, perhaps?

But then the drop rate of the GoW would have to be reduced because some people can be grinding for it and.never get it.

Good point... Either the drop rate would need to be higher, or the intended use itself would need to be a bonus, not a necessity.

Keep in mind that grinding is necessary to get to higher levels and actually defeat next higher quests. So, if it's not too much trouble, why not grind for these items too. Afterall, people kill for gold and diamonds today. What bonuses do they have? STATUS. I think the goW is a greed item. Most of the extraordinary & legendary items are collectibles.
I want ... NO, I reeeally neeeed that gemstone!) It will really give me a Legendary and Extraordinarily very warm feeling in my heart to have one.

You completely over looked what we were talking about. The idea of needing the GoW for a quest. Yes those 2 armor pieces are extraordinary but there boss drops. This is a grinding item. And we were talking about it being used as a quest item it for trade. And if it is indeed will be.used in such manor then the drop rate shouldn't be higher.

If the GoW is needed to complete a quest, then it should not be a grinding item. Once enough content is developed, no L/E should he necessary to complete any quest, and no grinding levels should be necessary to advance from quest to quest. I knows this is not the case yet, but we should take the long view.
