I do have a question of my own about Cleave, however. If you first strike the first opponent, I assume that means you maintain first strike throughout the entire battle, regardless of how many opponents there are, as long as you still have AP, correct? That, alone, may be the reason I should spend my next twelve levels worth of SP on Cleave. Of course, 15% bonus on exp is really hard to give up ;)

You simply click on cleave from the skills menu regardless if you are level 1 cleave or not do read the description.

Actually, it depends on the requirements and if you already have a level (or more). For Increased Fortitude, for example, using level 1 requires being at least at experience level 5. To get level 2 of Increased Fortitude requires being at least at experience level 20. But you don't see that until you're already at level 1.

Same for Better Criticals. If you're already at level 1, it will say you need at least level 2 of More Criticals first.

That's why I was asking from someone who already used Cleave level 1.

Mino is correct, I just misread his post. I thought he already had level 1 Cleave. You do need to have one level below whatever you are trying to obtain to know what you have to have to get it...

Cleave skill
Cleave 2 requires Weapon Accuracy and Hard Hit 2
Cleave 3 requires Weaponn Acxuraxy and Hard Hit 3
etc...

You can attack (or do something else) until you run out of AP.

Cleave skill do not raise your AP over your current max AP.

Thanks for the info Sarumar!
That means it really costs 3 skill points for every level of Cleave since you would have to also level up Weapon Accuracy and Hard Hit first each time. So, imo its only worth getting level 1 of Cleave. That extra part about it not raising AP past your current max is also very helpful to know, and it means there's still good use for that speed potion :D

I'm now having second thoughts about using my skill points to get Cleave. Originally, my plan was after getting to level 5 of QL (which I did), I would use the next 3 to get Cleave - 1 each for the required Weapon Accuracy & Hard Hit before the actual Cleave skill.

But now I'm leaning back towards continuing to put my skill points into Quick Learner. My personal goal for this game right now is to get to level 100 before trying to collect all the extraordinary and legendary items, so QL seems like the way to go.

Its been mentioned here before that there aren't really any mobs that can't be taken out with current stats (12 AP through 2 levels of Combat Speed and maybe a potion of minor speed), and even when I go after a mob they seem to disperse and I end up only able to attack 2-3 at a time anyway.

------------------------------

Bringing this topic back to the front!

A few minutes ago, I got a multiple-of-4 level up, which came with a brand new skill point. I resisted the temptation to keep leveling up Quick Learner, and instead have started on my way to getting Cleave level 1, by using my recent SP to level up Weapon Accuracy.

I've also noticed that even though it takes more XP to get to the next level, I've started reaching the point in AD that I can kill the Iqhan monsters faster (even without getting a critical hit) so maybe it won't be quite as long a grind as I was thinking, and I still have QL level 8, so that helps.

I wanna cast my vote in here too, reviving old threads FTW.

I put increased fortitude as #1 above battle speed. I still think they are the two undisputed top spots, but increased fortitude is one that keeps giving at each level you gain, and the sooner you get it the bigger the rewards.

Given the choice below:

A: Increased Fortitude at Lvl 5 and Combat Speed at Level 8

OR

B: Combat Speed at level 4 and Increased Fortitude at Level 8

How many would really take option B over option A?

Also consider you could only choose one skill or the other for the entire game (i'll be fair and limit increased fortitude to a two level maximum as well.

A: Choose increased fortitude (levels 5 and 20 if I remember correctly)
Effect at...
Level 5 : 0
Level 20 : +15 HP
Level 30 : +35 HP
Level 50 : +75 HP
Level 100 : +175 HP

B: Choose Combat Speed (levels 4 and 30 if I remember correctly)
Effect at...
Level 5 : +1 AP
Level 20 : +1 AP
Level 30 : +2 AP
Level 50 : +2 AP
Level 100 : +2 AP

I dunno, I honestly think I would choose option A both times.

Sorry if this analysis was done already, I didn't read through pages 6-End
