If the RoL is made a two handed weapon then its damage should increase to something around 5-12 damage. I can see why tek is outraged as I have created my build around this weapon too. Makes as much sense as a two handed Swiss Army knife. Never mind its only a g..............

we have news you must consider!

The Rapier of Lifesteal will be considered a Two Handed Weapon.
(no more shields for you!)
and Sir Mino,
assuming you will care the most about this tidbit...
the ElyR is also going to be a Two Handed Weapon,
so... no dual wielding ElyR's for 16ap
NOW THAT JUST STINKS :!: This hurts us defensive minded players to much!
I had decided yesterday that the ELyR fit my defensive build better than the RoL does b/c the RoL requires high AC to be worth it and I would rather level-up BC.

Making those 2 swords two-handed would take away the 2 best non-critical hit weapons in the game from me. I have already "invested" in the upgraded remgard shield in 2 builds that I would no longer be able to use if my 2 favs were made two-handed. Oskar, I am begging you to not make this change.
I would have to agree with Tek. Changing Legendary Weapons like this is not a good idea. If it was just some off the shelf weapon, then who cares, you could just buy the next one on the list that works for you. Even adjusting the stats to fit the new weapon/combat would be better than a change from 1h to 2h.

Note: I dont have one, or any Leg item, so it is of no concern for me one way or the other. IF I had one though, this would bother me.

the weapon was never categorized, so the weapon is not changing.
the game is getting closer to being done - so extra parameters are being added.

(just to clarify-yes, the damage will be massive for 2H swords...)

there are quite a few weapons in the game which are in a grey area...
the grey area of "which category will this end up in?"

also consider this, we have armor proficiencies coming up too,
and i bet you have an armor set you will have to break up...
because some will be heavy & some will be light.

i am only trying to prepare you for the update,
and avoid total system shock for the players.

an example of a weapon change is when the Venomous Dagger was nerfed,
or weakened to preserve the balance of the game. [v0.6.7 ~ v0.6.8]

Just noticed the part about the ROL and ElyR being classified as 2 handed weapons in the future. I probably don't need a shield on my main build but its too bad I can't use 2 since I actually ended up with 2 ElyR.

Maybe he can add a new Legendary Item: Glove of Raw Power - AC: 5%, BC: 5%, lowers HP by 5, gives wearer the strength to wield a large weapon with one hand. I can hope, right?

I was also thinking maybe the balanced steel sword with the quickstrike dagger, only because it reminds me of Methos from the Highlander TV series.

How will the attack costs work with 2 weapons?

there are more things being worked on,
like to conditions and bonuses of the off hand weapon...
but this part looks solid - so i'll post it.

Unskilled - Attack AP cost is main hand AP cost + off-hand AP cost.

Skill level 1 - Attack AP cost is main hand AP cost + 50% off-hand AP cost.

Skill level 2 - Attack AP cost is maximum value of main hand and off-hand's AP cost.

Are you saying the RoL is not changing to two-handed?

im saying the weapons aren't changing,
they are just being finished...

none of the items had categories, but - now they do.
basically saying the weapon is being completed, not adjusted.

I hope there's no prerequisites for those skills. But otherwise, it looks like it will be the same as right now if we just use a one-handed weapon and shield?

prerequisites: level 15 for rank one & level 30 for rank two
