Unfortunately, the search utility on this forum doesn't seem capable of dealing with decimals (at least I couldn't figure it out) but there's always an alternative. I still find it useful to go back and read up on search functionality from time to time because the better you are at searching for stuff the quicker and easier you can find the answers to your questions. Not all of these will pertain to this forum but the general principles found in these links will hold true regardless of where you search.

In responce to the Original Post:
Yes, I have one of these characters set up myself.
I have done no quests and have been very careful to not pick any sides or kill anything that i wouldnt be able to kill again.
I use this build for beta/Alpha testing and figuring out peoples questions on the forum.
I also have a build where i bought at least 2 of every item in all the stores in the game so i can answer equipment related questions.
A.T.A. <------ final destination.

AspenTD wrote:Thanks for the info and the warm welcome everybody. It seems as if my suspicions were right, and that there really is no concrete answer until the game is finished. Hence my desire to create a "neutral" character as high in level as possible....OR....just enjoy playing the game over and over each time there's a new release! I've been playing this game non stop since I first discovered it. All the while I've tried and trashed dozens of other games. This has to be a testament to its replay value!
Thank you AspenTD for your excellent question.
As for the answer to your question of whether there are any quests that you can complete that won't make much of a difference of the overall game or the amount of future choices given - not even I can answer that unfortunately. Since this is still a game in development, we might choose to continue past quest-lines in the future, and we may choose not not continue them. Most of them, we haven't actually decided yet whether to continue or not, even if most of them are written in such a way that we have the option to continue the quests in a future release if we wish to do so.
Technically, all your choices are stored in the savegame files - the ways you choose to complete quests, the fact that you have completed particular quests, the monsters you have killed, the items you have used. I would really like to be able to tell you which of these that would make a difference in the finished product, but as of now, we can't, since the game is not finished.
On the question of making choices - we are really aiming for you to make a choice based on your personal preference: on the outcome of quests, on the types of skills that you choose, and on the types of items that you want to use. Our aim is that you should get the benefits of building a strong character regardless of which particular choices you make. However, if you actually do make the choice and not stay on the "not-choose-anything-path", we aim to reward you with being stronger in the direction of your choice.
I love your enthusiasm for the game, nice to hear from you!

Forgot to add that i am also not using any of the Skill Points as well (except increased fortitude), this way i can test differnt skills when they are released. The build is also even (AC, AD, BC, AC, AD, BC, etc)
I also figured out that i cannot head up BWM w/o triggering a quest that I may have to make a decision on... Think I'm gonna hangout in the Gargoyle cave for a bit and hope for a miracle.
Oskar: I can't wait to see what you come up with next. The Duel Weild consept already has me drooling.

You can still go up to BWM, there's a couple quests that don't require choosing a side. You can do the quest to use the Bed at the Inn in Prim, and the Fatigue potion quest from BWM. I did both of those without talking to the leader of either town, or going after that family dagger. I'm actually there right now, so that I can get some speed potions while also grinding for XP and gold, and if an ElyR happens to drop, I'll be happy to pick it up
The quests where you have to pick a side would get triggered, but you would still be able to avoid making that choice on your base game.

The thing is the "either" phrase. I've seen a lot of the "either" in the code. But,if there is actually no Blackwater faction then it's the False Papers quest that takes it's place.
I sent a PM to Oskar the same as I sent one to you, and he told me there are no factions at this time. I would love for someone to add factions to all the quests.
I can't wait till our past actions catch up with us.
I pretty much went rouge the whole way through... All of my responses were steadily along the lines of "there better be a good reward..." Though I do appreciate the Shadow Priest for my sexy dagger!

The word is spelled rogue, by the way. I've chosen the way of the rogue for all of my characters. I figure that most probably go the goody-goody way to go, anyway, so some of us need to choose the opposite.
