Re: Favorite legendary item poll
I you grind some more and push your char level high enough, the lost damage potential resulting of a no second weapon balances out a bit. Especially if you take AD +1 in every level up. If you go high enough I. Your level, gear choices become irrelevant as your base stats are high enough to handle anything. But yes, duel wield is very good at mid range levels, once you have the appropriate skill upgrades to support it. I live my current character who's duel wielding two Rapier of Lifesteal. And also he has two Rings of Lesser Shadow. The symmetry appeals to me.

Re: Favorite legendary item poll
Actual I have reached with my strongest Char a BC of 230+% (exact numbr depends on equipment), so even the hirathil caves are "nice". So I like to wear the RoLS, if I use one of the legendary items at all.
Another Char is equipped with 2 RoL (and with or without one RoLS) but combat is slowed down by the health point numbers shown up on screen so I didn't enjoy game play that much as usual.
My item of choice is the RoLS, even the RoL is a extremly usefull life saver (never leave home without one, two or more of them - lol) and the EryL gets the most sympathy bonus. But the RoLS clearly makes the race.

Re: Favorite legendary item poll
I like the ElyR the best, even though it's probably the weakest of the lot; I'm not trying to troll here, and there's actually a twisted logic behind it.
Firstly, the ElyR is the only weapon that doesn't exist to make your character stronger; it's just a 2-handed sword that doesn't even compare to the stats of a 1-handed balanced steel sword. And this absolutely fascinates me; it's like an entire story in and of itself.
Imagine:
Our young protagonist learns of a legendary weapon hidden amongst the frozen summits of the Blackwater Mountain. In order to obtain this weapon of incalculable power, he stays on the mountain week after week, slaughtering by the thousand the wyrm trainers that plagued the mountain, before finally obtaining the ElyR - only to realize that the real thing cannot live up to the legends.
And yet, just before he throws the sword away in disgust - he realizes that, in his pointless search for the ElyR, he has grown stronger - by slaying thousands of Wyrm trainers and apprentices, his skills now far outstrip those of anything beneath the mountain. And so, our hero leaves the mountain with the ElyR - knowing that it is the warrior, not the weapon, that determines his power.
There's just a vibe of Epic Story in the entire affair of the hunt for the ElyR - although it's not the strongest legendary item, I like it all the same.

I have to agree with this reasoning behind the ElyR. Great story BTW.Wyrmspawn wrote: Imagine:
