In the end though, it really doesn't matter since the character will almost always end up outleveling the content. If you do happen to go the shield route, let me know how you do!
I agree getting AC and AD up at lower level is hard to do getting all the BC for BS, but I rather have slightly less damage and DR. Of course money is no issue and I have so much potions I could heal myself forever, but that is not the point. I want to be a strong build, not depend on filthy money and forbidden potions to survive.
