I think it looks too crowded. All the features other than the buttons need to be reduced in size. I agree with Ace about the corners and the spine. It's somewhat different in the real book. The way I drew the spine was based on a modern book, but it doesn't look like that in the photo of the medieval book.

Here's another. I had to change the logo so it look like it's really on the book and text too.

Looking good. I like the corners.
The logo is too much faded out for my taste. You can use the source svg to export the swords alone to create a better outline (use inkscape to open svg files).
I still don't like the font, and text should be on top to leave room for the buttons.

I like it. Could you try to make the text look like the border ? And maybe the logo too...

I double post because this deserve its own post:
What you all did in this thread is really awesome. Not only because the outcome will be great, but also (maybe mainly) because of how collectively this has moved forward. You came up with ideas I would never have thought of. You inspired each other. You most certainly discovered new techniques in your favorite image editor. That's just another proof of how great this community is, not that it needed one, but still. Now I have yet another reason to be very excited about the next release.
Thank you very much everyone for being who you are, and for coping with the substantial amount of time that has passed since the last update. Your love keeps us alive.

Thanks for nice words Zukero [but I just stole the ideas of rijackson and nyktos :D].
Is this one better?

That's no stealing, that's inspiration :D
But no, that's not it. Some bevel on the font, to give the same 3D feel, the same lightning, than on the borders.
And for the logo, your black outline from earlier, excpet with more details for the swords, and again, the same bevel than the border.
