Oh yeah, I forgot those. They are a real bummer too and thus yet another point pro DoSP.
I love DotSP and I dual wield it with FP. It can kill almost anything with just enough damage and ECC BUT it does jack against undead, demons, bosses and some other creatures. The ROL is a consistent weapon. It can damage any mob, drain hp and stack you HP.

The ROL is a great weapon. So is the DotSP.

Their effectiveness varies on how you plan to use them. You can't compare them. It's like apples vs oranges 8-)

Yeah, the DoSP definitely fails against crit immune mobs, which is why I usually swap to FP in these cases.
However, I do agree that RoL is a consistent weapon. I merely wanted to point out that I find it too weak, apart of its amazing HP regen capacity, as to call it legendary.
It would be rather simple to change that: Either reduce the AP to 4, or increase the damage potential from 1-6 to 3-6 or even 4-6.

IMHO it simply doesn't deserve legendary status at this point in time.

I can't wait for all weapons to be % based off of your base stats rather than having static points of stats. For the RoL, that would mean that you would gain 1% of your base HP back on hit and 3% of your base HP back on kill (just an example). Also, with AD, BC, Crit, HP, etc... all set as percentages of your base stats too that makes items scale with you.

Link, you need 2 rol to benefit the most(surviving being surrounded by hylthril). I like it just to not have to use potions. But that being said, I think the single best weapon is the qsd. blow for blow, nothing else comes close. The rol(x2) is my fav

I'm farming for RoL now , i'ts my third time to the kazaul torture chamber ( i left a rock trail this time in the labyrinth ). My main problem is the number of imps. In the gargoyl cave I had 13 of them to go through , compared to 8 imps . I think a welcomed change would be to turn all the Kazaul Spawns in the shrine room into Imps .
In order to make the most of my time, I had to resort to reload farming ... which is kind of annoying because a lose all xp/gold/items after reload, but the waiting for respawn kills me .
I play mainly on the subway omw to work , and I find myself standing there waiting for the damn buggers to respawn. , moving around on the bridge , just so I have something to press at.

Talking about the RoL stats , all I can say is I would love it with 4 ap so I can dual wield it with DotSP in main hand , or if it had even a 5 crit rating with x2 CM . And if those stats enhancements would be accomplished through a higher lvl chain quest would be great. Maybe that could be paired with Ian's topic "The house with the glowing door south of Crossglen" :D .

I totally agree with you. So far I've killed about 1000 of these imps but now I've given up. It's just boring

So do you mean I should place a mage who is a weapon upgrader in this house? This upgrade costs much money of course ;)

What about breaking the bridge down and adding a hole in the wall. The hole could lead to a cave underneath, leading to other maps where you could cross the river and get to the other side. On this dangerous way there could be some more of these imps (maybe some variations of it).

btw: i hate hunting the RoL too :(

8k-8.5k kills. One down, one to go. Can't complain, it took about 20 hours of kill/load, and should prove a game changer at level one.

Edit: And only 552 kills for a second. That is about 1/20 odds - no complaints there. Now to go terrorize the snake cave dual wielding RoLs...

And in response to comments that its stats are not legendary enough, I would point out that with the 1/10000 drop rates, maybe the equipment cannot actually BE too good, lest the sane players feel 'required' to grind for them? Just a thought.

Ahh well, off to actually grind some kills where I keep experience for a while.

I agree completely! I’ve already finished all of the game so far & have spent that much time again plus more trying to get the ROL. So my point is, who cares how powerful it is if it takes as much effort to get one as it does to finish the entire game?

The very rare drop items are not necessary for anything. Some of them aren't even any good! They are there for those that get lucky. so they can have some bragging rights (got my RoLS that way; less than 200 kills :D ), or those that have run out of quests and want something else to go after.
