Hi there ,

I have to say I love this game , it's addictive. For me it has the same level of addiction as World of Warcraft ( For the Horde - so I hear the Shadow calling).
Since farming for crazy drop chances is in my system, I loved killing those trainers and masters for this epic ring.
On the second run (after 427 trainers, 288 masters, 189 rocks ) I got the ring , and it felt great.

I have a question tho , since it's one of the most powerful rings in the game , why is it called " of lesser Shadow" , will there be a ring of greater shadow? :D

And if I may ask the more experienced adventurers , if there is a better combination then Rols+Rop ( from stats compare Rop>Prob )

Thank you for this epic game.

Congrats on your quick find of that awesome ring. Not sure about the name. But about your question, it depends on your build choice. The Ring of the Protector provides greatest overal benefit, but no crtical benefit, which the Polished Ring of Backstabbing does, where as the Villain's Ring does sweet dmg and gives an HP boost. Me, I almost switch between the three, depending on where I'm griding. Pehaps you should go for a second RoLS? :-) You won't get more regen, but it's other stats are great on their own.
Happy Hunting.

For me it is the must have item in the game so far although the JoF or Marrowtaint are pretty vital.

Thanks for the advice , I went for the second RoLS after I finished BWM quests ( still can't see the benefits of BC/diseased gear), and luck struck again after 120 trainers + 75 masters and 52 rocks. Now I don't have to choose for the second ring between other rings .
Since last time I bought QSD , and all I can say is it has no match at lvl 26 with enough AD.
I found Sword of Shadow's Rage in my bag after BWM quest line :D , but I see no benefit for it compared to QSD ( sadly since it is epic looking).
My next target will be Serpent's hauberk.

To anyone with numbers in the hundreds who think THEY are having trouble finding the RoLS:

My numbers:
Gargoyle Trainers killed: 12479
Gargoyle Masters killed: 7094
Assorted Gargoyles killed: 6000+
Small Rocks: 5296
Polished Gems: 1911
Reg. Health pots: 4999 (I have used/sold some of these.)
Ruby gems: 1653 (I was selling these in stacks of 300-500. I don't know how many stacks I've sold.)
RoLS: 0 (I have yet to find one with this character. My last character found 2 before getting 2k small rocks/800 polished gems.)

Hahahah. Regular health pots.

Use bonemeal potions. They restore 40 for about the same price.

I know not to gripe, you have seen tough stuff.

I am fully aware of the bonemeal potions. The older character I mentioned was level 87 and had over 2000 of them. I was using the reg ones early in the game and sold a bunch to buy bm and major. I have so many now because they drop off the trainers/masters. I have no need to use them now since I have regen 3. Any damage I happen to take is regenerated while I wait for respawn.

Give me the ring and the geoncide ends!

I've been farming this on bus rides and random downtimes for the past 2 weeks. I've killed enough trainers and masters to make it on Wikipedia's List of Genocides. Seriously, i'd be 3rd from the bottom of the list. My chance of getting a ring by now is 78.8%. I've leveled from like level 24 to level 42.

And the chance of it dropping in the next 500 are the same as it dropping in the first 500 I ever killed. Maybe I should give up on this stupid ring and move on with the rest of the game...

5569 trainers, 4761 masters, 2561 Ruby gems, 2575 small rocks. 1797 HP pots. Magic Find Level 1. 0 RoLS.

Nonzymurgist...I really hope I don't get to your point. May RNGesus smile down on you. What level are you?

It took me 3 months to kill almost 14 000 trainers & masters combined with MF2 before I finally got my RoLS....
I takes patience and dedication....
