Ok. So in the lights in the dark quest I cannot find the second piece of the chant. Been up and down the bloody Mount like 5 time. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance =)

Welcome to the forums, forever immortal :)
The "second half" of the kazul chant is here:
at the base of the mountain, from the outside the cave entrance, go to the left, more our less it's on the middle level almost under a bush

It depends, of course, on which half you have found first.
I believe that he meant to say turn to the right, not the left, and then south to find the bush. If you already have that piece, the other can be found by exploring all ledges on the mountain near the cabin as far as possible.
By the way, I rather think "bloody" (at least in the UK) is skating rather close to the line of allowable language for the forums. We are a family-friendly environment and no profanity, obscenity, etc is allowed. (In spite of the fact that kids nowadays are often very likely to blister your ears with their language.)

Wow, 53 pages and not one person has asked about the 10 swords? (Feyguard Errands) So, which one of the two delivery options is "better"? :)

since the game is incomplete,
it's hard to say what the best option is...

it really boils down to...
feygard vs. nor city
good vs. bad
those who oppose the shadow vs. those that support it
no one knows the reprecussions of such choices at this time

will evil characters suffer?
will good players have an advantage?

just gotta wait & see :D

About the Lights in the Dark quest, and the Kazaul area.

Are you only able to pass the Kazaul gaurdian and enter the dungeon AFTER you pick a side (prim vs bws) and finish that quest?

Since that along with the Feygard vs Nor City quests seem likely to be pivotal in future quests I'm trying to wait on those and complete as many of the non-pivotal quests/grinding first. If I can get my RoL grind in before saving my game pre-decision I would avoid having to grind twice, once on each side.

Thanks

Yes, you would have to pick a side and kill or force-flee the leader of the other side. As far as the Kazul quest goes, it doesn't matter which side you choose, either way will lead to you being able to confront the demon on the bridge. You could always branch off into new saves before picking a side though...

I've thought about that myself, but have stuck with just 2 separate games, since so far, each choice to be made has only had 2 options.

Regarding allegiances, I have some questions regarding both the Prim vs. BWM choice and the Feyguard vs Nor City choice.

I chose Prim over over Blackwater. As far as I can tell the rewards for this choice were access to the (crappy) weapon store and the potion selling priest. What would I have gotten if I chose Blackwater Mountain? Like, do the vendors sell anything notable? I know you get access to their beds, but does anyone in the town address you differently?
Oh, and do you lose access to the Prim Inn bed by picking Blackwater?

Now, regarding Feyguard vs. Nor, I have been rather inconsistent in the choices I've taken. I gave Feyguard the defective swords, but I killed the Nor guy who poisoned Loneford, and I killed the guys who stole the painting. (I haven't gotten around to getting the quest to kill that guy's sheep yet. Does that make either side happy?)

So, what side am I supporting? I've kind of just been judging the ethics of each side on a case-by-case basis but I'm aware that the game has probably interpreted by choices as being firmly on one side or another. I think I'd be okay with either one, since both sides seem to be trying to do the right thing, and just occasionally slip up. Like how Feyguard's desire to spread law and order translates to them being authoritarian jerks, or how Nor City's fight for religious freedom led to them poisoning poor farming village just to scare the people back into church (and maybe also blame the poisoning on Feyguard?).

I kind of just hope that no matter which side you choose, you can still do things in both cities, even if only before you commit to one side. I mean, it's kind of getting old how every settlement has some stupid excuse to not be able to sell you stuff or rent you a hotel room until you go run some errands or murder the leader of an enemy town.

Last question: In the next update, is killing that mindflayer in the basement of the Crossroads guardhouse going to give you any favor with the guards? Maybe that could finally give you access to the beds there?

welcome to the forum! :D

with the game being unfinished, there are alot of things still up in the air...
even the veterans are at a loss when it comes to guessing what happens when you pick sides.

if i remember right, if you take BW over Prim -
you still get the bed if you did the milk quest.
the only thing that BW sells (that i care about) is -
Berserker Potions! as opposed to Speed Potions...

this type of NPC is insight into what type of world our hero lives in...
they don't just randomly trust travelers who wander into their village.
why sell you weapons if they have no clue about your intentions?
they SHOULD be nervous - your brother poisoned a well!!!
it seems like you misunderstood what Buceth was telling you
(and what happened in Loneford all together)
at first, they thought YOU poisoned the well - because you look like Andor
so, you didn't kill the culprit... just his colleague.
as for being good & evil in each town...
so far - the trend for quest writing involves BOTH sides
so you should always have stuff to do - regardless of your alliances

and the mindflayer that was guarded & all by himself?
i hope nothing happens with him (working on a quest to involve him / unless Oskar already has plans!)
too bad i keep killing him with every new character

_________________________________________________

finally, we have no clue about Nor City vs. Feygard...
some of the quests we finish tell us to look for help / friends in later towns after helping someone,
but aside from new "contacts" (my own choice of wording)
there hasn't been any hint towards a "Final Alignment" or who will be the end boss...
it's all up in the air.

this is an open source game & any one of us could have the next big idea OR write the next big quest.
personally, i think it's awesome to find a project like this... unfinished & open to ideas / development.

i DO see it as more of a project than a game, because it will need some love before it is DONE.
but, that doesnt mean i don't "play"! :D

my point is, im STUNNED when people give this game a bad rating or gripe (not saying that you are ;) )
it's on the market early, so it can be found & worked on by everyone.
(and enjoyed by people who are patient enough to wait for more content)

---edit---

i hope this doesn't sound like a rant - i actually had a good time writing this...
haha anyway, take care & good luck! :D
