I got my first RoL after 193 small rocks with MF=0 + 101 with MF=2 total 294 small rocks. That was before we switched to polished sparkling gems. Small rocks seem to be a bit less common than the psg's. My second, still MF=2, came at 18 psg, 11 small rocks, 20 sharpened gems, 16 minor vials of health, and 14 regular potions of health. Although technically these were my 2nd and 3rd, since my first came on my very first visit to the cave on my first ever trip up the mountain. I saw a side path, took it, groped through a black maze, killed a bunch of speedy little red guys, headed for the stairs, and killed some respawned red guys. There was this funny-looking thing in the loot box. But it had a really high AP cost and I was not impressed. Just groped back out through the dark and went on up the mountain, meeting lots of new monsters, too engrossed in the game to save. Then I got killed, reloaded, and lost my really first RoL.

Just got my ROL!
I've been camped out in the Kazul caverns for about 3 days (real time, not game play time), and got it after 64 Polished sparkling gems. I was also able to stumble my way out of the dark without resorting to suicide.

I admire Lady Black's patience to go after 2 sets of each, but I am moving on to go after the ElyR now, maybe after a stop in Prim for some speed potions.

I've now equipped the ROL and am enjoying the +1 HP on hit and +3 on kill.

Does it affect my grinding if I also go for Kazaul spawns while I get Kazaul imps? Because I've got lv 2 in Magic finder and I should have got an ROL by now. Without the Magic finder my friend had 50 of the polished sparkling gems before he got one, now I've got nineteen. I'm not good at maths, but I can figure out that I should have had an ROL back when I had about twelve!

The math behind this is just statistic. There is no mechanism that counts anything, it's pure chance. What you may do else than grinding has absolutely NO effect.

The measure item is 1000polished Sparkling gems. With MF @2, that knocks item count to 500, but its all chance. My count with MF @2 was 192.

True, but IMO MF 2 doubles your chance to get legendary item. So you can average get one after 50% of original number of polished sparkling gem. But the most important thing here is still the Lady Luck..

Sorry Tek, i miss your post.. By t eway my number was something over 250...

the RoL's drop rate is 1:10,000

If the Measuring items is 1,000:
MF1: Measuring item 500
MF2: Measuring Item 250

Magic finder: Increased the chance of finding non-ordinary items by 50% for every skill level.

The math looks correct to me. I could be wrong, but that never happens.
