1st Ring (v6.9 / weeks ago) - 1350 small rocks... (retired)
2nd ring (v6.10 / today) - 821 small rocks & 2 Magic Finder... (active)

just thought these stats might give people some hope!
i consider myself lucky, with both of these drops.

after seeing so many players suffer from terrible luck,
im not sure if this is encouraging or not - i hope it is.

the ring is not just a Legend!
good luck to all on the hunt!!! ;)
Congrats! That dang ring still eludes me on a daily basis. I've gone crazy searching for it and officialy gave up looking for it a while ago. Now that i have 2 in my magic finder maybe it would be a good time to start searching again. (it was really hard to not put all 16 skill points into magic finder. lolz)

i think two is a good amount, really...

im torn, i am tempted to boost Quick Learner & Magic Finder to 4...
but that goes against my initial strategy.

choosing Magic Finder twice before ring hunting feels like a success,
but really - it also feels like i coulda been there for weeks...

it was about 8 days of constant Trainer / Master slaughter.
with or without the skill, i feel very fortunate.

i could imagine a scenario where...

someone with Magic Finder 10 NEVER finding a ring
or one with no skill at all, getting two back to back

tough choices ahead, and i LOVE it!!!
again, best of luck everyone!

Still eluding me too, at almost 5800 rocks now. I've gained about 20 levels looking for it. The problem is that so far it's the only extraordinary item I really want to have, so I don't feel like using magic finder just for it. I am now one shotting the trainers and masters with all the extra points I put into damage, which does feel good ;). (I am using the Quickstrike Dagger, which I imagine should be gettng rather blunt from all this killing by now)

I hope that first scenario doesn't end up being me, since I used exactly 10 skill points on magic finder. Its gotten me a boat load of Chaos Reapers though.

ROTFLMAO. Mr optimistic who thought to find one early!

To all still searching, don't give up, the ring is awesome. I know it can be beyond frustrating to the point of insanity, but I believe that you will get one......eventually. I am going to start looking again with my new character, (when I get a chance to play), and I'm hoping this magic finder skill is going to help. I've only put two points into it.

Pryizzle, I'll throw a party over here when you finally get one. I'm cheering for you, and Lady Black.

I got it! I got it! I got it! I got it!

6139 rocks is the final count, so about 25k kills.

That's exactly why I didn't put any into it. The difference between 1:10,000 and 1:5,000 seems like a lot, but it actually isn't. As we all know 1:10,000 does not mean you kill 10k you get a ring (some know that more than others), so odds are stacks against you super hard either way. I liken it to having a "system" for picking Super Lotto numbers. Regardless, Magic Finder 2 could have been 16% CC or CM 1.5 PLUS all of the extra exp you'd have gotten grinding in a better area than the gargs.

Actually all this grinding made the new additions to the game really easy, to the point where even the ihqan gave isn't very challenging. It's a far cry from when I first hit BWM, the gargoyle cave or snake cave. I think even the rat cave right at the beginning felt more challenging. I have decided to not grind any further so that hopefully further additions will be more interesting.

+1

This is why I don't want to grind...but something keeps compelling me to. I have to keep telling myself to stop @ level 100.
