Using your rationale, everything should be capped. What if I bark skinned til I had DR of 25? I wouldn't really need to worry about AC, BC, CC, MC etc. If everything gets capped, all of our characters will end up being the same which I believe is precisely what the skill points thing was meant to prevent.

IMO - you are wrong, and you are right...
to me - the most important thing in a game is balance

if everything got capped and we all maxed everything out we would be the same, Yes...
But, if you dont cap anything at all - you can become an invincible one hit kill machine...

LAME [just my opinion! ;)]
hear me out...

we are in BETA and can we get to the point where NOTHING can stop us,
and there is NOTHING left to do - except grinding
increased caps or more strict advancement speed [slower]

in the ALPHA - there will always be new monsters [until the end]
no need for caps, just well thought out restrictions on advancement speed
-to maintain balance- 8-)

good post though, dont get me wrong - great debate!
it grows the game

good luck all!

Well, crit chance making you invincible is still dependent on you A. striking first every time and B. landing a hit every time and C. having enough damage when multiplied to kill the toughest of monsters. I have none of those three things on my side. I still don't see it as any different than having a regular damage in the 60s.

I guess I don't have a real good feel for the development side of it; I've never been part of a Beta before. But tons of the most fun games I've played not only allowed for as much increasing of bufftitude as you wanted, but actually required a fair amount of it. Who knows, maybe I (and players in the final release who choose to do the same thing as I did) will end up paying for it later in the game when a creature has the ability to ALWAYS hit first, or be immune to or lower percentages for critical hits??

well said, and great point!

there are MANY types of gamers out there - and ideally AT will cater to ALL

AT deserves to be successful
AND
you deserve to get to play with the character YOU want

Is this Andor's Trail or a Burger King add? Kidding!

I agree with Chest_Rockfield as well, just beause you have a high amount of AD, CC, or CM doesnt mean you become invincable.
You will still get hit and IT WILL HURT if you dont have enough BC to prevent it or DR to resist it.

Or the third, less economical way, to have enough HP to withstand the blows without dying and then Bone up (Trademarked!) after the battle. That's why I have 157 HP and Fortitude 4!

Good point! That tactic got past me on my last post. Are you not putting any/many levels into BC then?

I am currently raising my HP and BC as i grow. The Rainbow Baddies will never catch me off guard ever again.

The effects of having a high HP vs BC is on topic consittering it has to do with which would give you the better chance of survival.

Basically
Having High HP to survive the onslaught
or
Having a High BC to block the attacks

Which one gives you a better chance of survival? According to the stats it should be just about the same either way.

Having HP = 150 but BC is near 0 or HP =25 and BC is over 100
