Just got my RoLs, so I had to brag. 118 small rocks, but I sold off about 50, so put me down for 168.

I went into there at level 19 with a quickstrike dagger and two polished rings of backstabbing. (Actually, I first went in at level 18, doing 11 damage, --big mistake. Left, added 1 to damage, and came back.)

Anyways, at 19 I could stay indefinitely, so I just would drop in occasionally when I had free time. Eventually I got the ring. I don't have much else to do on this map until the next release comes out.

around 10,000 some have gotten it in way less and some it took longer. Hope you get one! The Rol is worth the grinding to get, once i got mine i have not taken it off.

good luck on your hunt. =)

Yeah it's had a massive effect on the amount of potions i use too.

There are only a few places that i may need to use one now, but with Regen lvl 5 my HP rarely drops below 150. lol

Even though I love this game, I do not really understand legendary items...
1. Almost none of them is really awesome. Not even RoLS since regeneration can be achieved through skills as well.
2. Over 100 thousand users are playing the game, hovewere IMO only a minority of them is such a heavy user to kill ten thousends of monsters to get a single item. Thus, only maybe some hundred of them (of the several 100 thousands) will ever find any legendary item. Why create such items if most of the users will never see it?

I consider myself a heavy user, hovewer after around 22 thousand kills (4180 stones and 475 weak poisons) with one on MF and no finding, I am getting a bit bored too :-(
IMO finding chance should be much higher (e.g. 0.5-1.0 per cent), but every item should be limited to one finding.

I think originally the RoLS was made as a rare drop to be a surprise for anyone that happened to get one. But then it was discussed in the forum so more people learned about it and tried to get it.

The original stats didn't even include Shadow Regeneration (but I didn't get one until after the revision).
After Oskar saw all the players from the forum trying to get one, he boosted the stats. It was mostly just for something to do between updates, so then more were added with each update.

The fact that they're not so amazing as to over shadow any store bought or boss drop items was done on purpose so that you can complete all the quests without them. So more casual players can still enjoy the game without even knowing about these items.

Thanx! Now I understand the original role. However, I still believe that it would be a good idea to give all the players a real chance to get one!

I think the main reason the Magic Finder skill was actually created because everyone kept asking for better odds after killing more than 10,000 (estimated using the count drop items), so that's probably the most of a real chance you'll get. My first build, I used 10 skill points in Magic Finder and got them all fairly quick, so I personally think it makes a difference.

The other reason the RoLS might not seem as amazing now is that in future updates, 2 store bought rings were added that closely matched a lot of its stats - the Villain's Ring (same AC, similar AD) and the Polished Ring of Backstabbing (close in AC, and slightly higher critical skill). So another good thing about these items is they can lead to store bought or boss drop items that are almost as good or in some ways better. Another example is the Balanced Steel Sword that is considered by most to be better than the ElyR in pretty much every way. So having these items is also good in that it can lead to better ones that are easier to get in future updates.
