I think thats intentional, not everyone has the patience for a 1/10000 drop chance so the item you get shouldn't be essential for gameplay or you will bore some of the target audience out of the game.

If I wasn't so hooked on this game and didn't want to grind, I might have stopped after 1 RoLS, just so I'd have Shadow Regeneration, but that's not the case and I wanted 2.

Ouch, weeks huh? That's one of the worst places to be stuck on a long grind. I'm not looking forward to going back for a second ROL. Though when they get dual wield in the game I guess I'll be heading there. I'll be using the clear and reload method for sure, I don't think I could stand to do it the other way again.
