Saves of that sort would be possible through rest areas. ;)

Sometimes I spend only a few seconds to kill a few opponents to try to get a RolS or RoL and then continue with the next Char. Guess this would be impossible when saving the game would be restricted to some save points...

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but:
This "auto remember" is nothing that has to be implemented. IT IS THERE! This is the standard behaviour. When you leave the game, no matter why or how and you restart it you do NOT have to load a save file, you can just go on.
Absolutely right. The biggest reason that people that are against changing the save system to not allow save-cheating have to offer is that they may only play for a few minutes at a time so nothing should be changed.

The biggest problem with that logic is that the perfect solution for those using phones (the majority) is already there. All you have to do is exit the game and when you start again you can start where you left off.

A bit off topic... This right here is a problem that shows how badly we need a ton more info in the game help. If people don't even know you can exit your game and save, it tells us how little they really know about playing the game and the help they really need to get the most out of their game.

Back on topic... With the quick-saving while exiting the game out of the way, the parts of saving that encourage save-cheating are fine to be changed as long as an auto-save happens at entry into a new map section and you can save at rest points to be able to switch character saves if you want. ;)
Honestly, I'm beginning to take MAJOR umbrage at everyone calling it cheating.

It's only called cheating because when you die in real life there's no save file to go back to ;)

Ha ha, not until we get the ability to see at least an overview of the monster before engaging in combat (ie. from range). In real life you can get a pretty good idea of how dangerous a monster is by just a glance. In game, currently, unless you walk up to a monster and engage it in combat you can't tell anything about it other than what the picture looks like which doesn't help much because it's just a tiny sprite.

And as it's a game and not in real life, it's not cheating.

If it were real life, it would be an excel file.
