So there is no difference in the GPlay and F-Droid version besides the ~12MB, right?Zukero wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2017 10:01 am FYI, the F-Droid team rebuilds all apps themselves. It's a great feature from their part, but it also has two drawbacks:
- They don't use the optimized build process we have that shrinks the APK from ~20MB down to ~8MB.
- They re-sign every app with their own certificates, so you can't update from Google Play seamlessly. Game saves are compatible though.
I generally look for apps on F-Droid, and if their comments do not state that they removed non-free components from the app, I install the original from GPlay. If F-Droid cleaned up some non-free components, I go with the F-Droid one.
I didn't check the license. Thanks pointing it out. That makes the game even more attractive
I'm halfeway through with the contribution guide. I hope I will get the setup running as fast as possible
The only thing that's holding me back is the green maze (where I'm currently lvling )

Re: A welcome, to our Guests!
What you need depends on what you wish to contribute. If you are a coder, then you obviously need Eclipse or Android Studio. But if you are a coder you know that . If you wish to create maps then at a minimum you need Tiled, but it's highly recommended that you use a combination of tiled and ATCS. For other content (items, quests, NPCs, etc) you need ATCS. If you wish to play through new content to test it you need either Eclipse or Android Studio, but you would not need them to get started.
If you need help, please ask.
Before starting a project it's a good idea to PM one of the dev team to let them know what your plans are. Creating something that conflicts with existing content or game structure is not satisfying for anyone
Last tip: If you are planning to create content, start with something small. Big, complicated pieces of content look great on paper (and we need them, because there's a lot of the world still to fill up!), but they are hard to execute and therefore not a good way to learn.

Sure? I'm currently just using vim and git. The more basic, the more I like it. Hence I'm trying to code without Eclipse or any IDE (besides Unix ).rijackson741 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2017 11:23 am If you are a coder, then you obviously need Eclipse or Android Studio. Is there a central "TODO"/"Current Work"-List one can look at and choose a task from?rijackson741 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2017 11:23 am Before starting a project it's a good idea to PM one of the dev team to let them know what your plans are. I already have something in mind, what really grinds my gears. What about "Small notification only if found a non basic item"? This would give me some insight into the code and maybe some more ideas while codingrijackson741 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2017 11:23 am If you are planning to create content, start with something small.

For Java, I find an IDE helpful, especially to browse code. The AT codebase is a weird beast, so get ready to navigate a lot. The Android toolkit is mandatory though, and we have no build system or build script. All done with the IDE.
Not really. Depending on your favorite skill set, I have a few ideas, but no formalized Todo list.r4ndom wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2017 7:35 pmIs there a central "TODO"/"Current Work"-List one can look at and choose a task from?rijackson741 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2017 11:23 am Before starting a project it's a good idea to PM one of the dev team to let them know what your plans are. Lol, it's a good idea, but someone beat you to it. There's a pending pull request on github for just this, that I have to review more thoroughly and test before merging, but at first sight, it looks good.r4ndom wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2017 7:35 pmI already have something in mind, what really grinds my gears. Re: A welcome, to our Guests!
Hi, I posted some little things. But it might be nice to introduce myself. I am a Dutch grey gamer. I play Lol and AT.
And I am happy to see AT is being developed again. After the update I started playing again and now somehow I am a bit addicted to killing wolves, ghosts and hunting quests.

Re: A welcome, to our Guests!
Hi to all,
I just started playing this this year, downloaded old version from Fdroid and now updated it to 0.7.5, I don't play any games anymore except this one - although I wish I had more time to play games like I used to when I was young. This game made me enjoy finding time to play games again, I like how it's still being developed and the ending is still unknown, and I like this discussion board - it's helped me through the game so far up to blackwater and level 30. So thank you to the creators/developers and all the community members here for making this game really enjoyable!
I use to play games when I was young, from apple 2E and commodore and vectrex and atari and the first nitendo from hong kong etc to the last game I played was Final Fantansy 8 pn playstation one. My favorites are all the Final Fantasies and Dragon Warrior and Legend of Zelda and more RPGS like Andor's Trail, but I didn't play any games for so long until this one and never thought I'd start playing games again, but for some reason I decided to try this one and I'm happy I gave it a chance - because not only is very enjoyable to play, I like visiting this discussion board too and it's like this discussion board is also a part of the game as well.
When I played games in the past, before internet, I always bought the walkthrough guides because I like to a perfectionist - so this site and the irkalla item/quest/etc lists is the perfect thing for people like me. Anyways, always talking about the past, but my point is I've always wanted to create video games like the developers here are doing - so I'm exited and happy for the creators/developers of Andor's Trail that their getting to do what they love and create video games!
Keep it going and thank you very much!
