Welcome to the forum. I do not know anything about the translating, myself, but I know there are topics about the various languages and their translations somewhere in the forum. I am sure people involved in the translations will answer you soon.
I mainly wanted to say welcome to the game and the forum. I am sure whoever has been doing the French translation will be glad to have help.
