One more quick q re: small rocks

Okay, so my understanding is that the small rocks count is just the average number of small rocks you can expect to collect before you get the drop, just based on the probability. I've been reading through the forums, and thinking other folks are confused when they are thinking that they need to collect and possess a certain number of small rocks.

Am I right in concluding that it's just basically an estimate? Like the probability makes it 1 ring drop for every 2500 small rocks? Or has it been shown that you actually need to have the rocks on your person as if they are some kind of trigger? I have been keeping them simply because I have plenty of gold now and no reason to sell anything.

welcome to the forums!

and you are absolutly right...
the rocks (or other items like bones, poisons, etc.) are just average markers
you dont need any rocks at all, the RoLS could drop on the very first kill!

does having the rocks in your inventory help or has anyone actually ever tried to prove this?

It doesn't matter if they are in your pocket, basket, or randomly dropped on the ground.

code is written on percent drop rate only. There is no other variables in play here.

another question does lvling up your magic finder reset "estimated" count, because ive lvled up the magic finder to 5 and ive still killed over 10k and still no drop.

No, because the estimated count just indicates approximately how many Gargoyle Trainers & Masters (for the small rocks example) you've killed. If you want to reset the count after leveling up Magic Finder, you'd have to sell off or drop all the small rocks you had before that. I actually did that myself after the last update, to see how many kills it took.

But the drop rate is for each kill. So each time you kill a T or M, there's a 1:10000 chance they'll drop the RoLS. MF skill just increases that chance each time, but there's always going to be some luck involved (good or bad). So good luck! Just don't give up.

Okay I was wondering if anyone figured out a great strategy to getting the rols quicker? I just kill all the trainers and master than go off the map for 3 mins and do it again I was wondering if there is a better way?

Not that I'd ever play at work ;) but if I did, I would go through the 3 rooms killing all the trainers and masters, then go to a corner where no one will respawn, and turn the phone screen down and do some work for 3-5 minutes. Then when I go back to my phone, they'd be respawned and I can repeat the process.

Otherwise, there's going to the next room (with just the Gargoyles) and exiting the game for a few minutes. But yeah, its all about just killing them and waiting for respawns.

I have my loot box set to display, so I can see what I get (and how much XP) with each kill.
