Chests usable for any items

Currently chest are currently only usable for food items, would be possible in any future version to store other items as well? I've collected several items (weapons, armour, etc) I never use but want to keep. Storing them in a chest would be a nice feature.

The three slots that open with the chest icon are "quick use slots" that enable you to get potions and food to heal during a fight without haveing to open your inventory to get them. Storage for items you do not want to carry with you, but do want to keep is available in you home in Crossglen and the inn room in Prim. It is the basket in the lower right corner of the room. (I think it looks like a cat litter box.) Or you can simply pick a place you would like to store things and drop them there, where they will stay until you come back for them. The monsters will not steal them while you are gone or anything.

I also thought of this. Why to restrict the chest for potions.
One could easily change weapons and equipment there. (RoL - Quickstrike Dagger)

Perhaps we need more slots in this case.

True, that could be useful, too, but it sounds to me as if he was asking about storing items not for immediate use but for keeping without using. Even if the quick slots were modified to hold weapons, they would not be for long-term storage.
I do think we would need more slots if we want to keep change-of-weapon items in them, because most people change more than just their weapon when they make such a change. Several people have listed such things as rings, gloves, shields, possibly boots (I don't remember for sure.) Could the same spaces be used for potion-type and gear-type items, with the chest icon opening the gear slots and a new flask icon opening the potion slots? If so, only the flask icon would need to be added, so maybe it could squeezed in. Although, come to think of it, people who want gear in the quick slots are usually strong enough that they use few if any potions, so they could go their inventory for healing supplies while weaker players could use the slots as originally enabled, for potions. I had a phone call in the middle of writing this, now it sounds all muddled, but it is past midnight and I need sleep,so I will post as is. I still think the double-purpose slots sound good if it could be done.

i agree that changing equipment on the fly would be great...
if it's during battle though, certain equipment changes should cost more than 5 AP (the base cost to use items)

i could see changing swords costing 5 AP... like quaffing a potion.
but changing armor, gloves, boots... during battle? HUGE AP cost!

although, a quick swap button to change an entire set of gear (preselected) would be nice.
-swapping from my RoL life gaining gear, to my DotSP high critical gear with a simple tap would be blissful. (outside combat, of course)

------------------------------------------------------------

as for keeping the items that you don't use (in a safe spot / but still on your person)
i told you, Oskar was thinking of a backpack to keep the junk we never use - but cant bear to lose...
(or something similar to a backpack) nice right? :D

[i know, im like 5 - with the "toldya so"]
but, you still love me.

Yes I asked about storing items because I don't see any reason for 3 chests. I didn't know it were possible to store items "at home" or anywhere. Somehow this should be made more visible in the game. Maybe the initial items are stored there and one has to get there first.

I guess there are many more things in the game which I haven't discovered so far. Maybe if it were possible to get hints from time to time. Maybe if one has gone to bed and awakes with a dream of something ...

If it were possible to have potions in one, weapons in a second etc, it would may more sense to have more than one chest. Yet IMO chest should be freely usable so anyone can assign them as he likes.

the box at home, in my eyes...
it was like a reward for exploring and searching - you find free money!

i also noticed that none of the other boxes were like this one,
so i dropped something & there was no bag...
i backed up, stood on it & saw a different loot / pickup screen.

(this was before reading the forum :D )

i am not ancient, but i am very seasoned in RPG's
not everyone will find it because - not everyone looks at everything
so, for the sake of the masses...

maybe Mikhail could tell you about it when he reminds you to equip whats in your inventory the first time he speaks?
(and only the first time he speaks  )

If we create the Introduction Quests we could put in there. Great idea Brother.

yeah?

how about when you're asking about the first two quests...

*rats
*bread
*box / crate / chest / container (whatever sounds best)

Mikhail - Would you mind getting me an empty vial out of our storage crate in the corner?
And stop leaving your gold out on the table! I dropped it in the crate for you. Feel free to use it yourself.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
