Another idea of mine considering this game is sort of set in the medieval times I guess, what about if you can fight on horse back, have a warhorse which can give you increased attack chance say ac+30 and an increased block chance, also could lower your move cost incase of fleeing monsters, have this horse as a gift or trophy for a quest that could be implemented in the 0.6.12 version, just a thought, your comments !

+1 refreshing idea, but IMO in close combat there should b a -BC becauce mounted characters ability ito dodge is limited and he is trying to defend his mount.

So IMO in mounted + xx % to hit and + xx % to damage in cace of mounted charge action (I love the idea of lance attack), but in close combat -50% of BC.

any opinions ?

Def like the idea of a monted charge, not sure about lowering block chance as being monted would def would be harder to hit, what about limiting the weapons you could use to lances and swords only as I couldn't really seeing a dagger of any use in horseback, also like the idea of added critical attack, nice one, still like the idea of implementing this into a quest to gain the horse

Being on a horse in combat is only a good thing in two situations.

1) You are surrounded. This might not make a lot of sense at first but we're talking about advantages here and if you are surrounded on foot you may be able to take out one or two of them but unlike the movies where people stay just out of range taking turns attacking you, in real life they would simply swarm you and overwhelm you rather quickly. Being on a horse would allow you to either take several of them out while you're still on the horse or even attempt an escape by running down some of your attackers.

2) You are in motion. A stopped horse does little good besides being able to kick someone in the nether nether parts but as long as you remain in motion you will be faster than your opponents and have a lot more momentum than them due to the extra weight and speed. Don't believe me? You try standing in front of a horse that's moving full tilt in your direction with an armed human aboard and try to take either the horse or the rider out without getting run over or decapitated.

Perhaps you would like an ice breathing dragon on your shoulder that slows down your foes and maybe a pet mountain wolf. Not sure putting a smile here will change how this comment is percieved.
Just can't really see how having a Warhorse would improve the game although it is a fun idea Scottdog.

when i think of a horse, i first think of improved movement...
not mounted combat - that requires a lot of training

also, if we fight on horseback - the enemy will too!
(mounted combat generally uses its own battle system)

maybe we can have a horse riding skill?
go to the stable, and tap a horse...
if you have the skill - you can "fast travel" to any other stable you have visited.

mounted combat does require alot of training so lets say if you hit a certain level in this game ex(level 100) which in my eyes is well enough training considering the time and killing monsters weve done to get there, lets give andor a prize for getting there, turn our little fighter into knight(possible quest !)and give him the noble stead he deserves !

i love your persistance!

:D

are you picturing the hero, mounted...
as your icon as you move throughout the game?

i mean, it really could be done...
we could edit the character image to have him atop a horse.
maybe even have him take up more than just one tile?
like the beast in the basement of Flagstone?
on that note, i think i saw a one tile mob that was a human on a horse...
and using that as a template im sure i could come up with something we could use.

but i still call you crazy, and love my own idea for a horse skill...
just fanning the flames of brainstorming!

glad you guys keep coming back,
the update will have you even MORE addicted - trust me!!!
