Combat speed skill.
Jewel of Fallhaven will reduce your weapon's AP by 1.
Speed potion.
That's about it.

There's sort of one more skill that can help.

The Cleave skill works when you attack 2 or more creatures at a time. When you kill one, you get +3AP for each level of the skill. So, for example, if you start with 10 AP, and attack 2 snakes, and it costs you 3 AP to kill the first one, instead of having 7 AP left, you'd go back to 10 to attack the 2nd snake with.

There are also some weapons that add to your max AP (but sometimes because of the attack cost, you still need either combat speed, speed potions and the Jewel of Fallhaven to make use of it).

well, they are actually Action Points, not Attack Points...
and that said... the benefits of higher AP are not limited to attacking!

using a potion, changing gear, fleeing from combat...
they all take AP, and when you get an AP boost (even one) it helps

:D

also, don't believe everything you read...

(there is a reason to take the first rank in combat speed as soon as possible)
"in the right circumstance" that is...
(e.g. being able to run or use a potion when earlier, you were 1AP shy)

great point about cleave there Mino, and on that note: still outside the box -
there are boots and body armor that can reduce the cost of movement during combat...
making your AP more valuable per turn - obviously at around 60 - 80 this matters little

Yeah.

I almost didn't take Combat speed at level 16. I'm glad I did.

If your attack AP is 2-3, you get an extra attack when you use an item in combat, as items take 5 AP to use (AFAICT).

Now, if I need ot heal, I can still get 2 swings with my shiny weapon instead of one. (three if I'm kicking, instead.)
