Weapon proficiency

I just had this idea, from watching the damaged weapon section. The longer you use a weapon, it shouldn't be more damaged, it would become more like a part of you. Your body and fighting style would constantly adapt to using the same weapon, so instead of the weapon becoming less powerful over time, it should be your body adapting to every single aspect of the weapon over time, increasing the weapon's power.

What do you guys think?

Should the weapon be weaker after a period of time, or should you be better at using that weapon over a period of time?

i could see taking a skill to boost weapon proficiency,
base on it's new category...

see Oskar's recent post!

:D

he even mentions the skills...
but i doubt it will be based on how often it's used.

(then again, as we keep saying... this game is counting stuff behind our backs)

so who knows?!

+1 Excellent idea *mumbling... i still like idea of damaged items* How about both of them ? Weapons and items can be repaired but only way to mastered something is training, training and training hard :)

Byteway im huge fan of the RuneQuest (old rpg, characters in paper and dices, etc), because in this system there are not experience poits at all. Instead character can become better in specific skills by using them and/or training them with assistance of master. Yes, in this rpg you need to go back in school again :)

Meh, as i said before I'm not a fan of the damaged weapons idea.

Weapons Training could be another option on how you become proficent (maybe a series of quests, each one adds a point to AD after you finish it.) Or maybe make the player make the choice, which one (or maybe 2) do you want?

Sword Mastery
Axe Mastery
Polearm Mastery
Mace Mastery
